Truly, bullying is a serious crime. The act of bullying is morally wrong and can leave short-term to long-term effects on the victim.

    What is Bullying?

Bullying is the act of abuse towards a person. Bullying can be in the form of verbal and physical. Verbally abusing someone, degrading, threatening, mocking, and looking down upon them. While on the physical side, bullying refers to being violent towards someone. Bullies usually threaten or ابتزاز جنسي the victim into silence.

    Harmful Effects of Bullying

As mentioned earlier, there are many short-term and long-term effects of bullying.

    Abrupt Changes in Lifestyle

A child suffering from bullying may lose their appetite, adopt new eating patterns, or find themselves unable to find interest in doing something they used to. Some might change a part of their lifestyle or routine from the mocking by bullies. For example, a teenager being mocked for their weight may adopt new eating habits to bring change to themselves. This might include going from a 3-meal course to a very small and limited one. A drastic change to this habit may do more harm than good.

    Depression

The person being bullied might feel the need to shut down people and push them away and go into a state of depression and. Being bullied leads to the feelings of being unloved or not cared for. The victim may feel lonely, sad, stressed, anxious, and depressed.

    Birth of Negative Thoughts

Victims may start to blame themselves and take upon all the mistakes as their own. They may start to think they are better alone or that they deserved the pain. These negative thoughts can further lead to the victim wanting to go more towards the state of isolation. The victim may have suicidal thoughts or move towards self-harm.

    Helping the Victims

It is essential to validate the victim’s stories and believe them. Let them know that they are being heard and seen. It is important to tell them that it is okay to speak up. In some situations, the victims are being ابتزاز into silence. It is necessary to create an environment where they feel safe and secured.

Listen to the ones around you and make them feel comfortable enough to share their experiences. If you see someone bullying, stop them. Also, help the victims through legal actions and by your supporting words. Nobody deserves to be bullied.
