    Top 5 Scholarships to Study in Australia

    Australia Rewards Scholarships, previously known as Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), is one of the top five scholarships to study in Australia. These are long-term development scholarships administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They allow people from developing countries, especially those in the Indo-Pacific region, to study full-time at participating Australian universities and TAFE colleges. Full tuition fees, round-trip plane tickets, an establishment allowance, a contribution to living expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and other benefits are provided in such scholarships.

    1. Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) –

    Scholarships for students from Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East to study in Australia are available through the Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) (Bachelors, Masters, and PhD).

    The Allison Sudradjat and/or Hadi Soesastro Prizes are also open to Indonesian applicants via these AAS scholarships. They give people from developing nations, particularly those in the Indo-Pacific area, the opportunity to study full-time at Australian universities and TAFE colleges.

    Individuals’ skills and expertise expand as a result of the study and research opportunities provided by Australia Awards Scholarships, allowing them to make a difference and contribute to development in their home countries.

    2. Destination Australia’s Recognition Program –

    Domestic and international students can apply for over 1,000 scholarships worth up to AU$15,000 each year to study in rural Australian universities at all levels. Australian Aid: Creating Wealth, Reducing Poverty, and Strengthening Stability, the Australian government’s development policy, recognises the importance of higher education in any development effort.

    3. The DFAT’s support for the programme is outlined in the Australia Awards Global Strategy –

    To safeguard the welfare and safety of grantees, the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) collaborates closely with educational institutions.

    4. RTP (Research Training Program) –

    Australian postgraduate scholarships are offered for domestic and international students interested in pursuing a research degree at one of the participating Australian universities. This award will be considered for students who apply for a higher degree by research (HDR) programme and check the appropriate option on the application form.

    The RTP pays a stipend of $35,950 per year (as of 2022). The scholarship includes a stipend to help with living costs, foreign health insurance and tuition fee reductions (i.e. no tuition fees).

    La Trobe Academic Excellence Scholarships are available to international students interested in studying at La Trobe University in Melbourne (AES). International students from outside Australia and New Zealand who are enrolled in any taught undergraduate or postgraduate programme are eligible to apply.

    5. Curtin University Foreign Research Fellowships –

    International research fellowships are available to students pursuing Master or Doctorate degrees at Curtin University in Perth. Three AU$10,000 Meng Fei Innovative Future Leader Scholarships are also available to overseas undergraduate and master’s students.

    The goal of the fellowship is to assist and encourage students who are pursuing a recognised degree in a field connected to CSIRO’s Information Science and Agriculture research programme. It is one of the top five scholarships to study in Australia.

    A monetary stipend of $5,000 to $10,000 is paid in two instalments over the course of the honour’s year. The funds can be used to help pay for course fees or other education-related expenses such as textbooks, as well as general living expenses, at the discretion of the beneficiary. Curtin University offers international undergraduate scholarships.
