Many are throwing themselves on streaming platforms during confinement, while cinemas and all cultural places have had to close their doors. But if you’re not a Netflix or Disney + subscriber, it’s harder to find something to entertain and learn without spending your money. Fortunately, some institutions have posted free movies online. Soap2day proposes a film from its archives on its website. The Soap2day Nice puts a selection of films online for free access every week . You just need to create an account. The MK2 cinemas do the same on the Trois Couleurs magazine site .

But beyond these exceptional initiatives, some video-on-demand platforms also broadcast cinema for free, throughout the year. Thus, the Arte channel site offers to review certain films broadcast on television for several months. A handful of these films are even uploaded to Arte’s YouTube channel. As for the Rakuten TV VOD service, it has a small catalog of feature films to watch free of charge by creating an account. The only drawback: the presence of advertising.

Here are 3 movies you can watch for free (and legally) on the internet:

‘The Man Who Knew Too Much’ (1934) – on Arte.tv and YouTube

Prior to the 1954 classic with James Stewart and Doris Day, Alfred Hitchcock had filmed an early version of “The Man Who Knew Too Much” in Britain. It is about one of the three films of this period of the master of cinema that Arte decided to put in the spotlight, alongside “Sabotage” and “Young and innocent”, also available on the site of the chain and on his YouTube page.

César et Cléopatre’ (1945) – on Arte.tv and YouTube

The adaptation of the play of the same name, by George Bernard Shaw, with Vivienne Leigh and Claude Rains. The film is known for its chaotic production, in the midst of World War II. The director Gabriel Pascal in particular demanded that sand from Egypt be brought on the set so that it is of the right color. Vivienne Leigh also suffered a miscarriage during filming, which had to be cut short for five weeks.

    Bugsy Malone’ (1976) – on Arte.tv

One of the most famous British musicals, “Bugsy Malone”, is also Alan Parker’s first film (“Fame”, “Pink Floyd – The Wall”, “Evita”). It stars Scott Baio and Jodie Foster in a parody of gangster movies with children.

Movie lovers can download any movie from KatmovieHD with one click.
