Thread: Fei Wong Reed's motivation

I was thinking about what could be the "bad guy" final goal, and it was somewhat hinted that he wishes to resurrect somebody, like when Fay (formerly Yuui) asked him if he wished to bring somebody back or when Yuuko stating that he would bend all the rules needed in order to grant his wish. As has been stated severaly times in the series, once you die, you are dead (obvious, huh?), so I was thinking that the reason he scattered Sakura's feathers would be that her powers isn't just dimensional jumps:
Various characters in the series can cross different dimensions (Fay, Yuuko, Fei Wong) but the protagonist party only went once to the past as far as I recall, merging the power of Mokona with the statues of the deities and the "wish-granting-moon-castle-with-a-feather". Maybe the power of the princess is not just to cross dimensions but to travel in time. This way Fei Wong would be able to travel back in time and change the fate of his "important person".

interesting idea, might be true. i agree that fei wong reed most likely wants to bring someone back from the dead. throughout the series, the inability for any magical power to bring people back from the dead has been emphasized, and from the amount of power fei wong reed is gathering, it seems to be likely that's what he's attempting to do - to bend the very rules of the universe to accomplish this.

That's a pretty good idea. I was honestly confused when he didn't want the feathers but rather the "experiences of the body" so he didn't care about what happened to her spirit in that dream world. Also how/why he captured/kept Shaoran, not to mention how did he clone him cloning him?

i would say that its a possiblity though given that he kills several people and doesnt care about anyone i don't know if he has anyone important in his life he seems like your general megalomaniac but this my be to through us off however if its resurrection of someone the problem is that it would probably cost more than anyone could imagiane to pull it off probably destroying every world they have been to in the process-but thats just a guess that the price for that kind of a wish is something far beyond just exchanging one life for another its probably going to cost everything to do it. Also reed seems to be unalbe to cross dimentions himself he keeps sending servents never actualy entering the world himself=entirly-his hand did but that doesn't totaly count so it may be he can send others to different worlds but that means he can't leave.

i'm pretty sure fei wong reed is not completely evil. i haven't read all of Clamps stuff (only CCS, Chobits, TSC and xxxHolic), but Clamp seem not like distinguishing between "good" and "evil". even people who seem evil have their reasons for doing things.

plus, the way Yuko talks about Fei Wong Reed, it's sort of more sympathetic (along the lines of "he won't get what he wants even if he does all this"), instead of spite or hatred.

true, knowing CLAMP, they would give his evil actions some justifications, like that of bringing someone from the dead, or gaining more power for something he wanted to change!

I think fei wong is completely evil. I mean he imprisoned someone, deceived another person w/ a clone, killed his own subordinate, killed kurogane's mother and is responsible for his father's death, took advantage of fai's childhood. From my understanding he is trying to get a power that is suppose to be beyond allowed limitations. I dont know what he is playing, but getting a dangerous power to justify something is similar to building a nuke for the purpose of peace. From his past actions i cant see anything other than he is evil.

If Fei Wong is planning to resurect someone, then who do you think it is? I think in xxxholic, Yuuko said that Clow Reed wanted the "same wish" as Fei Wong in that they wanted to change the future. But Fei Wong was wrong or worse that Clow Reed's.

no idea. so far he's pretty much shown by himself and his underlings. probably a past lover or some family - the usual.

I was thinking that maybe Fei wants to resurrect his dead lover. If I'm not mistaken, I recall Fei saying to the woman that freed Shaoran that she was somewhat "incomplete". (I might be wrong on this).
Perhaps he tried to clone his loved one, but ended creating something incomplete just like Clone Shaoran (had no magic and no heart).

EDIT: And he allways kept her with him in spite of all what he said about her, not like any other subordinate.
