Ah, and the Masataka-haters once again want to complain because he is doing what they said he couldn't do, and that's whip Mitsuomi's ass (make any excuse you want, that's what he's doing). Aww but it isn't Souichiro-sama!!!!! Get over the fan-girlishness, it's pure irony that Masataka would be the one to make his brother see just exactly what he's become.
As for Airgear, the new chapter of it was just released (I checked it on another website where I get manga updates), so obviously it's not being neglected.
"TO PROTECT, YOU HAVE TO BE STRONGER THAN THOSE THAT LIVE RECKLESSLY. YOU HAVE TO BE STRONGER THAN THOSE THAT THIRST FOR
BATTLE AND BLOOD. YOU HAVE TO BE STRONGER THAN MEN WHO HAVE GREATER AMBITIONS THAN GREATER DEMONS THEMSELVES."
"Zomg, no wai, it should've been Nagi who defeated Mitsoumi. Grrrr, darn that Masataka! >:O It's a good thing everyone is complaining right nao since everyone said Nagi was going to do it amirite?" lmao
There's fangirls? Oh shi-, where?!
I am one of those fangirls I guess since I was one of those people that said Mitsuomi would win against Masataka. Still say that he would technically win, but its Oh! Great's story. He could change it however he chooses like he's done before. At least Mitsuomi is still fighting and got a blow or two against Masataka with his heart at its worst and just finished fighting against Bunshichi. The question is what happens now with the Tournament
^Are you hawt?
I said Mitsoumi would win as well, although personally I don't think Mitsoumi is dead yet. I'm sad to say but I'm finally thinking this really will be the last fight, Masataka vs Souhaku. The tournament at this point has no relevance, Bob hasn't seemed to have recovered, dunno what's going to happen to Maya, then there's Aya who is still at the hospital. If Mitsoumi is really dead, everyone is going to commit seppuku, which imo would just be stupid since it wouldn't really push the story forward if they did.
I think either Souhaku is going to leave and then make some huge plan or we're going to get one shitty ending. =/
And on another completely random not, wtf happened to the F Group?
I agree that all of the members of the Enforcement group committing seppuku really wouldn't achieve anything. But you have to remember that's a Japanese custom, particularly among Japanese warriors. If a samurai failed their lord, they saw it as a last means of keeping their honor by taking their lives.
I too, am banking on Masataka vs. Evil Souichiro showdown, and I also agree that the school tournament has little relevance right now. Keep in mind though that it is probably still Souhaku's prime chance to gather all of the red feathers into one place, to create the resonance effect that he's looking for. Things haven't ever really been that simple with Souhaku, as to solve everything with a one-on-one battle.
As for Mitsuomi, his battle with Bunshichi didn't take that long, in fact, technically it was decided in like, two moves (the Demon claw on the spine, or whatever it was called, and the one-hitter-quitter punch they exchanged). So he still had time to call on his full abilities to fight Masataka.
Well first off, I'm a dude (I forgot to mention that), but I would do me if I swung that way Lol.
Second, the tournament might not mean much, but all of those people that were fighting including the people that were controlled by Nokimi would probably want an explanation if they just suddenly cancelled the tournament. Plus, the tournament somehow revolves around Dougen's ultimate plan. Still have to remember that the story doesn't revolve entirely on Souichiro or Masataka even though they're getting the most attention right now. If Masataka were to square off against Souhakuro (what I call Souhaku/Souichiro) either Masataka dies, Souichiro dies with Souhaku still in him and with that Maya stays in that condition or Souhaku dies alone and by that Maya still stays dead. I didn't add the option of Souichiro taking over since Most people think he's still the stupid kid from the beginning of the story meaning that there's a good chance that he'll never regain that control over his body.
I get the Japanese custom, but like I said it really won't push the story, if anything it'd just make things worse by hastening the last fight imo. Technically you can bypass getting the Red Feathers since it honestly seems like Souhaku has already taken full control of Nagi at this point, that and if he just came at Masataka right now who he considered a threat who is going to stop him? Thus I said Masataka VS Souhaku and not Masataka vs evil Nagi.
At this point I think O!G might throw away the series since he just doesn't seem as committed anymore, with the constant breaks and dwindling pages of each chapter. It's like a worse case scenario thing, but feels like that's probably what he'll be aiming for.
Actually at this point, the only way I'd see Nagi coming back is probably in some cliche way, like Aya throwing herself in the midst of a battle or Masataka some how miraculously hitting with some super awesome totally long name attack and killing Souhaku. I don't necessarily think it's that Nagi is too immature but more inexperienced, everything was just thrown at him all at one time.
I'm not sure what to think of this series anymore since chapters a aren't long anymore and far in between releases. I hope the story becomes a bit more clear soon or I probably won't pick this up til it is finished, if ever at all. I still like this manga, but I'm not sure how much more short chapters, long breaks, and random events I can take. =/
