Default Meaning of the characters names

I've typed Maya into google, this is what I found at answers.com:

    1. The power of a god or demon to transform a concept into an element of the sensible world.
    2. The transitory, manifold appearance of the sensible world, which obscures the undifferentiated spiritual reality from which it originates; the illusory appearance of the sensible world.

I ask this because I'm wondering if anyones made a point to look into seeing any type of deeper meaning in the names of the characters.

Souichiro's name has something to do with a star
Bob's last name can mean either Black Moor Volume or Demon Energy container.
I"m not sure about Masataka, but the last name has something to do with a brid.

However, Oh!Great actually uses the kanji meaning of their names, as they all have some part of a tree with Natsume being the whole tree. I think Masataka means branch, Makihara is seed, Souichiro is root. I'm probably wrong about each individual name meaning, but I'm 100% sure Oh!Great made the tree reference and Natsume means the entire tree.

I don't know what Maya or Aya means but Natsume means Summer Eye or summer Flower.

Masataka's name refers to an octopus, which is why Souichiro called him that name earlier on in the series.

That's Tako, not Taka. Souichiro has called bob and that teacher with the scar on his head "Tako" too.
