I just spend the last 5 days downloading this series and I love it, and since I just read 100 Chars in less than a week, I will speak up while the details are still in my brain.
I belive what Souhaku Really wants is a peacefull world as he claims the Word equality is the cause of all wars.... He says that is human nature to try to impose to others, and I see he is totaly Right in what he is trying to do, If he awakens all the Humans with Special powers in the World, sooner or later all the wars would stop as Those that are beyon humans would impose the humans, and the Normal ppl couln't do hack shit about it... and the word equality wouldn't exist anymore
My real question: is Souhaku a bad person? I think he is just using a Logic that many ppl won't understand... Mitsumi is also using this logic as he thinks Those with Special Powers need to be Exterminated, so the Normal ppl can live at peace, however, Normal ppl would never be at peace since is Human nature to try to Impose your Ideals above anyone in your way, and Mitsumi is the Prove of that, he just doesn't realice it...
So who the hell is really the Bad guy? I think the Mankind is the Badguy :P
Lack of Grammar is just the First of many things you will see from now on
I don't think there isn't really a "bad" guy, rather, more of a person who most people who would say the actions in which he goes about trying to accoplish his goal is bad. I think Souhaku just has ideals about what the world should be like and has taken it as his duty to make it the way he wants it. He might see it as for the better of all people, but others don't see it the same way.
You see that he follows a lot of Taoist practices, but the thing is if he really is following the laws of nature. Should life go on naturally for their world or should someone put in their two cents and place their ideas on others? Who knows.
I think that in TenTen there are no absolutely good or bad chars. Everyone has his own drawbacks, but in Souhaku's case he has gone too far and has done too many really evil things. And i'll never understand a man who uses other people in order to achive some goals, and i won't forgive him Makiko and what he has done to her. He seems to be more like a demon than a human, and he just can't love anybody, even his son. So his ideals...screw those ideals, i can never accept that the end justifies the means. He's a real freak and nothing to talk about.
I don't know
ppl say as you grow older you also grow wiser
and for someone like him that haves lived for who knows when and probably haves seen many wars and many ppl die for one silly word that always ends repeating itself overtime... well I just can understand him, he is just thinking in a Logic way... and Logic is always Cold, yet is not bad (on the longer term)
yes he used Makiko, and is going to use his son, but that doesn't mean he is doing it cause he wants, he just set his goals and probably won't stop at anything till meet them, but his goals are actualy good, at least for the future (in a odd way)
The thing is, Souhaku is a tyrant.
He wants to build an empire of super-natural people and rule
It simply takes away freedom. Power is not something that's suppose to be reserved for an individual
This reminds me of a cool little Korean movie
This guy is one of the heavenly guardians
When he watches Earth, he sees all the suffering people go through
One day, he gives up his position to go down to Earth. He kills the ones who are causing pain
He wants to rule. If he can keep all the power, no one else can use it to make others suffer
But he doesn't have enough power, he falls in battle against a tyrant
He wakes up thousands of years later, in a civilization with no tyrants, sucks life out of others, and goes after the other guardians for the "Key" that would give him power
To make it short, in the end, he gets the "Key" after beating people for it(Nice unique fight scenes.. not like kungfu movies)
I didn't really understand the ending, but I think his body couldn't take in all the power, and realizes that 1 person shouldn't be the supreme being
He gets beat when his body rejects the "Key"
I'm mad at myself cause I think I know which movie you're talking about...Arahan?
Arahan: Urban Martial Arts Action. yeah, cause I downloaded it like a year ago and decided to add that kind of training to my martial arts training.
Anyways, its the same ol story told over and over again. You can compare Souhaku to Magneto or Apocalypse from the X-Men: The whole survival of the fittest for Apocalypse and a mutant-only world for magneto.
The thing is sometimes people never grow up, so some still have the mindset of like 15 year olds and such.

So although I'm saying he's wrong, I'm not going to say that it might not change by the end of TT.
Really? The way you describe it I was thinking of Hitler since he fits the profile quite well. Wants what's best for his race and wanted to have super soldiers, and was using the Jews as the primary reason for building up their morale and purpose to fight.

I just think mitsumi is way more Evildier than sohaku, and when did he say he wanted to rule the world? I remenber him saying that inus (sp) aka Red feathers should Rule the world, I don't recall him saying anything else, but I only read till 101
Souhaku is a cold and calculating sociopathic jerk. I think the Hitler analogy suits him quite well.
I don't think Mitsuomi is evil, just misguided and probably disillusioned.
Perfectly and concisely stated. My thoughts exactly.
