Thread: Will there be a happy end?

sadly, im not a fan of happy ending series... i want everyone involved in this conflict to end their lives in the end drowned in tears, agony, despair or regret... with some minor character still survive, maybe crippled? with only the memories of those happy times in the past is what left for them in the future...
hmmm... maybe bob and chiaki should be left alive... it would mock those american movie that always get the black guy's dead in the end or in the beginning...

Well...aside from my first post in this thread, the title is still a good one as someone else pointed out. Anyway, like ayagila, I'm not too into the whole happy ending thing. And with this whole series the way it is I doubt they'll have a happy ending unless someone looses another eye and rekindles their bond with some other family member, just like that one family that was famous with the spears... >_>

I still kinda see the ending being a happy one As what I can see reading up to ch 105 and it seems that Nagi and Bob are going to fight for the president position in the end. If you think of the situation that some of these characters are in right now, it's starting to look like a happy ending. Mitsuomi is getting closer to his demise, Maya is a vegetable the last time we saw her, Makiko is becoming the bionic woman, and Souichiro might lose his consciousness if he fights anyone with powers again. I think there has to be something good to come out of it in the end, although it'll probably be some bloodshed before that happens

Yeah. I think the ending will be happy but at least one of the main characters has to die. For some reason I'm sticking to either Bob or Mitsuomi. I don't think Bob is even a candidate for presidency. And if you look at it in terms of the qualifications of a leader, Aya and Masataka are more responsible people for the job than the others.

Unfortunately we haven't even seen the worst of the fighting or the climax of the manga. Too many parties in play and probably too many forces to come to see what direction the manga will go in.

A sad ending is entirely possible, since all the foreshadowing in the series (about the sounds of gears, or gears breaking) seems to say the whole 'fate is inescapable' thing.
I personally predict a (relatively) happy ending, because most likely all that foreshadowing is just for dramatic effect.

And to the person that started this thread; i think there is some confusion as to when volumes are released. You mentioned that vol 17 came out some time ago, and that vol 18 and 19 should have come out in subsequent months (someone replied that vol 17 hasn't come out yet). The fact that this manga is monthly means that a chapter comes out every month, not a volume. Each volume contains about six chapters, so it's about half a year for a volume. Though TT is on the slower end. =)

my theory is ... that nothing good will show up! we all know that even if mitsoumi won the fight he would die any way ... cuz his heart cant sustain the energy that shin burst into him! ... i think that nagi will never stay with aya, he will go to his mother, n help her out with the taijiya, bob goes with chiaki, takayanagi, i think he will love that brat, madoka, i think the only two left from the jukenbu are gonna be maya n tawara-san, cuz asshat is gonna die as well! in the end i hope nothing of what i wrote here will be true! but i know the reality is close! but hey! may be they will cure mitsoumi-san! n hez gonna tell maya he loves her! i dnt care bout aya! i want nagi to tell maya he loved her too! i want aya to run to takayanagi!! uh ... i cant wish anymore!

my theory is that OG drops this series entirely and we never get to see an ending XD. U_U it seems like when an artist takes on another series he tends to concentrate on whichever intrests him the most ...

Election Final fights Souichirou will fight someone and his evil father will take over his body. His fight with Mitsumi begins next. He easily defeats Mitsumi with a dragon punch Maya jumps in to help Mitsumi and gets hurt as well. Aya will save Souichirou by removing his eye. Souichirou will be down for a while and Aya steps in when the lady with the dragon tongue shows up. She takes the eye and pops it into Takayanagi. Aya kills dragon tongue lady and then starts to fight Takayanagi and Takayanagi goes all super warrior like Mitsumi was supposed to be. Aya gets knocked out of the ring Souchiro stands up and starts fighting. Souichirou begins to lose. We get another set of talks between Reiki and Aya and she fully becomes Souichirou's sword to cut the chains of fate.

The fight more or less is a draw now between the three and Takayanagi gets and opening and is about to strike Souichirou when Aya takes steps in the way and she is hurt. Souichirou holds her as she dies. Evil father / Takayanagi start to taunt Souichirou. He says "it must be fate that no Nagi can ever protect Natsume Aya in any time.

Now we go back into Souichirou's mind and we finally get an answer to what and who he is fighting for! He realizes that more than anyone Aya has supported him and her faith and love for him have never wavered. He comes back to the fight he takes up Reiki and the fight ends with a Dragon Fist to the eye allowing him to steal the resurrection powers. He rips the eye out and cuts it with Reiki and the evil eye will fall to dust. He will use all his power to revive Aya. When she wakes up there will be tears and a kiss maybe an I love you who knows then we see the others getting back up beaten almost to death the end of the election Souichirou won. Maybe he will add in a bit after about life after the election fights.

Victory party bandaged and beaten members sit around the table at the end Aya is talking to Makiko about marriage plans and Nagi say" hey wait a minute I never agreed to that!" Aya looks hurt and says "but you said you loved me!" and Souichirou replies "well of course I love you!" and Makiko cuts in and says "Good its settled! You know aya you would look lovely in a western sytel wedding dress!" Souichirou turns to Bob looking for help and Bob makes fun of him. When Bob turns back to Chiaki she says "You know a wedding doesn't sound so bad" Bob blames Souichirou and they begin to fight.

Next it flips to Maya and Mitsumi in his hospital room she lays her hand on his arm and he rouses and looks at her. they have a friendly chat and find out that the Dragon punch seems to have removed all the energy that Shin put in him thus giving him a long and happy future with Maya. The End
