That character from chapter 63 is the real heir to the Tsumuji family, Yorimasa Mataza Tsumuji. He was a better spearfighter than Jushi and bullied Jushi often (Jushi's mother was a prostitute, so Jushi and Yorimasa are half-brothers); Yorimasa was also always favored by Yorihira. One time, Yorimasa's bullying went too far, Jushi's Dragon Claw powers inherited from his mother activated, and Jushi took it toYorimasa. After [F] allowed Jushi to overthrow Yorihira and take over the Tsumuji family, he kept Yorimasa locked up, tied in a straightjacket, and with his sliced-up legs nailed to the floor. Basically, Yorimasa's presence in the storyline is there to give Jushi some backstory and also to show just how cruel and insane he is.

    Does that answer your question?

Yes, it sure does. Thanks! You are absolutely correct -- I had completely forgotten about Mataza's half-brother, and his condition would certainly indicate that the Dragon's Claw was taken to him in a bad way -- just Mataza's sadistic, bloodthirsty style.

Well, that's once more piece of the puzzle in place for me. Thanks again.

i dont know, Tenjou Tenge is pissing me off right now. not only are releases monthly, but the chapters are extra short. to wait 30 days for a 25-28 page chapter is really stupid.
look at monthly mangas like 666 satan or beck: every chapter has about 40-50 pages.
its not our fault that Oh great!'s animes made from his mangas, sucked which made his series less popular.

true, plus its not top priority for the people who do the scans so it takes a while for it to be released. i was really disappointed that the last chapter was short too, but im just glad that things have been moving along with less confusion. i think he's just focusing more on AirGear maybe, iono but i hope the chapters get longer.

Yeah I heard of animes destroying mangas, For example I read Gantz before watching the anime (the first season was Censored) and basically the ending was bull and I've also manage to watch the anime of Tenjou Tenge, and I have to say that it's garbage.

i didnt mind the TT anime. I thought they did the fight scenes pretty well, but obviously it didnt give the "awwwww" facter like Oh!Great's drawings, but it was good imo. Not great, but good. Worth watching imo.

u kinda feel sorry for Oh Great! But then again its his fault for selling them off without really saying how he want them to be animated. Or maybe it might just be that Oh great's mangas aren't made to be animated.

Well, I can't say I'm pissed, but I would say I'm *kinda bugged* about one particular loose end left hanging from chapter 89: What happened to Kamura Shidzuru and Ishiyumi Tessen, who were last seen fighting Souhaku's "bat men" guards so that Mitsoumi, Souichirou and Madoka could enter and confront *Him*. Mitsuomi sent Madoka with Reiki to assist them, and later on we see that Madoka made it back (in ch. 9, but... ? A shame, since both of them seemed like strong characters. Hopefully they'll reappear at some point, although at the current publication rate, we might not see them until 2009.

Methinks that Oh!Great has put so many characters into TT that even the mangaka himself has lost track of some of them.

Think I'll add this, since I didn't see anyone explain it yet. The attack on the enmi clan was because of a computer chip, not sure why no one remembers this. It was found after the attack by Mataza's father (Souichirou and Aya were there also) underneath the enmi house, which leads to the whole battle in the forest and eventually make-up between father/son.

Sohaku I don't think has the ability to manipulate people like someone said, he can resurrect people (and animals). Don't think it's actually said what his family power is though (as the resurrection isn't it). Makiko went along with her husbands plan willingly as far as I remember. Not totally sure about her arm getting chopped off, but I'm pretty sure it's the arm that the dragon fist is used with (so she could have gave her arm up because she didn't meet Sohaku's expectations, hence thought she didn't deserve it?). The eye she lost though was where all the powers she had collected using her dragon's fist went to, and was transplanted into the guy with iron skin (forget his name).

As for Asshat I'm pretty sure it mention in chapter 102 that there was someone else with red feather blood in the Juuken club (I was thinking it was possibly Asshat, since it couldn't be Bob or Masataka). Because if you remember Takayanagi ex-leader saying that he'd been gathering red feather's into the school, and as we no Asshat had no fighting skills (besides street fighting). So it does put an answer to how he got into the school.

Wow, idioch, you are exactly correct! (slaps forehead) That would explain much, wouldn't it? It all did seem pretty senseless otherwise; in fact, killing everyone there still does. There was mention of the Takayanagi clan "cleaning house" among the less cooperative families after he stole power from his father, but that did ring hollow.

While we're on the subject of "senseless", I still can't fathom why, in the ancient arc, Aya and her cohorts saw fit to kill everyone in the brothel (Vol. 15, pg. 7. Can you shed any light on this?

Another bit that I don't get: Kabane Myouun Hirohiko and Shyoujyou Tokuan Mitsuiro, now that their 14th generation selves have been introduced into the "present day" arc, told Aya "We're not your enemies" (v16 pg107). Yet, the last time we see them, they are obviously helping out Mitsoumi, who's now wheelchair-bound (v16 pg162). It will be interesting to see how that plays out...

The iron skinned guy was Kagiroi Tetsuhito, who in addition to having Makiko's eye transplanted, also evidently was hundreds of years old, thanks to Kago Souhaku's sorcery, I imagine. While I like and respect the character of Makiko, she sure strikes me as slavishly foolish to her (ex?) husband's plans, buying his promises of using her eye and powers for a better world, when the exact opposite is true. Even after enough abuse to fill a dozen psychology textbooks, she still pines for the guy. Eerily self-destructive.

Could be -- one of the fun things about TT is how is keeps you guessing. There's a new thread on MangaTranslation that ch. 104 is coming out soon, so maybe we'll soon find out.

    Thanks again for the explanations!
