Default Need help finding Windows 95 os.

I can't seem to find anywhere and I need it for an expieriment. I tried everywhere and the only place I could find it was Ebay.

I need it for a "cloaking" computer I made and unfortunately, XP does not allow you to use some features in the DOS prompt.

    Ohhh, no no no noooo....

Not sure what you are asking, but if you are looking for a way to get it for free, then none here can help you. We don't need the liablility for links of extremely questionable legality here.

And anyone who puts WARZ (don't know if I spelled that right, but its cracked, hacked, keygen'd, or no-pay for the full version programs) links up will be perm banned.

However, if you could explain what a cloaking computer is (never heard that name) and what you want to do with it, we may be able to find you an alternate method (I'm thinking of a few right now, but I better know what you are trying to do first).

    *EDIT*

I just added the Warez thing as a rule, so any requests along simalar lines as this will not recieve the same offer of assistance from me, or anyone else here. Banning will just take place and it will be all over.

Sorry about that. I can see now. Again, sorry. I meant to buy it of course, I just thought those prices on ebay were too high and wanted it cheaper.

For learning purposes, a "cloaking computer" tells a system or computer who they are. The computer thinks this is true, but in reality, it is not. For instance, legality aside, you get a modded smartcard for your satalite system, you place it in and within a few hours they fry the card and you have to start over again. This is where the cloaker comes in. A card reader is hooked up to the comp which is hooked up to your sat reciever. (there is more to it than that) The comp reads the modded card, then sends a signal to the reciever which tells the sat that the card is legal. And with this you get every channel your modded card is programed for and the reciever and sats think it is a legal signal.

This is just for educational purposes only. I don't even have sat. My rent has cable included so I dont have to worry about free chanels. It is for research project for my college electronics course and my professor gave me the ok for it only if it was used for educational purposes.

Again, sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I wanted the wearz for it, I want the Floppys anyways.

Ok. Its not a problem. But, I am confused. What is it that you want? Windows 95, or MS-DOS 7 (the underlying structure of Win95)?

If it is the dos you want, you may be able to use FreeDos. I'm looking into it, and will edit this with what I find.

It looks like the current release of FreeDOS should be compatable with DOS 7. Also, I wonder if you would be better off looking for Win98 instead. 98 runs basicly the same as 95, so it should be fine. It is a DOS based enviornment, not NT based like XP (Win NT is NT 4, Win2K is NT 5, and XP is NT 5.1 (I think XP SP2 is NT 5.2 as well), but your not supposed to know that).

Also, I suggest taking a walk down to your local IT department and explaining the situation to them. They probably have a few copies left laying in the back, and with a little sweet talking, you may be able to lay your hands on a copy. Even if you can get one temporarily, it would be good enough.

You know, I never really thought about asking the IT department yet. And yes, 98 would work just as well as 95. In need windows because of the WinExplorer kernal. I tried 2000 and XP and they both said the file cannot be acessed due to compatibility and I tried doing the compatibility conversion for XP with no avail. (right-click on the program, properties, compatibility, 95 mode)

I don't know why I never thought of asking them, I ask Monday.
