    Default Password Protection

my dad just got a new 250 gb external harddrive for our pc. he said i could use it to store my files (since my 2 37.5 gig hdds on my laptop were full in like ... hours after gettin it) however i dont want anyone and their mother viewing what i put on that EXHDD so is there a way in Windows XP to put a password on a folder so that the folder cannot be opened without the password and the files inside cannot be remotely viewed without the password?

There are a ton of programs you can get online that can password protect your data. Most of them are shareware and eventually require a password. Try looking around and you might find a freeware one.

I use the zip method. You can encrypt the folders in a NTFS drive, but not a Fat one.

Try taking a look at this and see if it will do what you want.
