Crazy question... but,
is there some way to watch winamptv streams/channels without using winamp. Preferrably a plugin I can use with Media Player Classic?
I wanted to start watching a winamp stream when I suddenly realized I had uninstalled it, but rather than reinstalling it, I figured if there's some way to maximize my usage of MPC, that'd be better than installing and entirely different player just for one feature.
I guess my chances with this one are rather limited though.
I don't think so man. I looked into it, and all I can find is that this WinampTV is usually refered to as Nullsoft video (.nsv). Is that right?
Anyway. Looking at it, you may be able to play some things, but for the nsv files, your secrewed. Supposedly, that is just a container format (like AVI, MKV, and OGM), so if someone would make a splitter, you could get the video, audio, and whatever else is in it out, and recombine it into a real container format. I doubt you will find that anytime soon though.
Take a look at this thread here, it may help. I think your screwed though.
Yeah the format is .nsv and it is a container, but as far as I have heard, no one has cracked it probably because no one saw a reason to. Damn. I'll keep poking around though. If I find something I'll post back here just so the information is recorded somewhere.
Cool breeze. I always like to see another codec available.
I ran across this, but didn't think to post it before.
Seems that the source code for the format is available, at least that is the way that I read it. If that is the case, then the only limiting factor is the intrest of a few programmers.
Know any video programmers?
My brother failed Digital Signal Processing. (To his credit, he was taking some really tough classes and UT isn't a pushover school.) :(
I guess I could ask around though.
.nsv files? Can't VLC Player play those? I forget
Hmm, well I happen to have Video Lan client so I'll try that.
