    BASICLY devide your connection by 10 and you will get your average download rate depending on the source... this is simply because the inital connection is the fastest posible speed of your connection but it cant be maintained during connection thats why it fluctuates from higher and lower...
    56k = 5 - 6kbs max
    128k = 12 - 14kbs max
    256k = 25 - 30kbs max
    512k = 51 - 60kbs max
    and so on
    as you can see the range for the max increases dew to the speed differnces and it continues to increase.
    Many people now the truth but few people understand it!

    Are you one of the many?

    ok here it is from my experience

    Dial Up: 5-6 KBps
    DSL: 1.5MBps = 128kps (dowloads)
    3MBps = 258kps(dowloads)

    Cable:
    Almost like 3MBps for DSL

    T1: 350-450

    T3: 1MBps - 3MBps (dowloads)

    World Wide:

    if you are in washington you can get 3MBps downloads but this may vary depending on where you live. The less populated where you live the slow it gets.

    At this moment I am using T3 and NPCI world wide internet card ( both fast as hell i advise people with the money to get it)

    And as I said i know all this from experience

    upload speed? That is prob. max 300 or somthing like that.

    I got a 1024/256 line.

    The download speed also depends on the person you are downloading form. So does the upload.
