    Default Computer making siren noises

Hi people, currently I am playing Sims 2 and after 5 or so minutes, my computer starts making siren noises. Once I quit the game, the siren soon stops after. I have also experienced this problem when running other programs such as the ePSXE emulator( a playstation emulator) and Gunz the duel. Can anyone suggest what I could do to stop this noise? I'm thinking the computer is overheating so perhaps I can quit some background program that are running??

    sounds like your pc speaker

if you just want the noise to go away, disconnect the internal speaker
If you want to actually find out the cause, may i suggest you install some monitoring software for your mobo and find out exactly what is going on. It sounds like you have an overheating issue.

If you are having an overheating issue. Make sure the dust is gone, and also make sure all your fans are working.

now i'm up wayy too late.. good night all!

Short of opening the case nad disconnecting it, you can try to go to the sound conrol pannel (doubble click the sound icon in the task bar, or go to control pannel, sounds and audio, then push advanced button in the volume level box), so that it comes up with the volume bars for master, wave, etc. Now go to file, and click advanced settings. This should make an advanced button appear under the master volume knob. Click that and you should see a check box for mute PC Speaker. That it. Your done.

Thanks for the help I turned all of the sound to mute for now and I can play the Sims 2 without the annoying fire alarm siren. Yay!
