A .bin file is a binary file that can be practically used for anything. A .bin file usually works in tandem with a .cue file and since you're utilising a game I'm pretty sure you have a rom of some sort. You'll need an emulator to make it run , something like MAME or Kawaks. Ask your friend what kind of emulator you need

this one is basically almost the same with what char siu bao say

you see .bin > binary extension >means that it can be any kind of binary data and all of its derrivative (not sure about this)

but the point is .bin can be any sort of data
but how do you use it?
    that's why .cue for...
.cue can only mean one thing (if i am not wrong)
either you have to burn everything into a cd and then run the cd
or you have to get a virtual drive and use that virtual drive to open that .cue file
virtual drive>like alcohol 120% or daemon tools
daemon tools> google it, download the one that can emulate cd drive or something like that

i don't quite understand the second problem
do you accidentally open the .bin file during installation?
if this is true, then probably the easiest way to solve this is restart your computer, then use virutal drive to open the cue file again and let see what happen
but for the first one, is it because your hard drive is almost full?

Is the path to the binary file right in the CUE file?

You can make CUE files yourself if you know what you are doing using Notepad or any other basic text editor. Nice thing about them is that they can be used to add in music tracks and make specific offsets if nessisary. In that file, you should see it call out for the binary file. If it calls an absolute path (as opposed to just calling the file name, in which case you just have to have the two in the same sub-directory), then you must make sure that the path is correct. For example, if you have the files in C:\games\ and the the CUE file calls for C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\My Documents\games\ , then the file will not work.

Another thing, a .bin file (when coupled with a .cue file) is just your average image with the .cue as an instruction set for transfering it back to a disk. I found mention of a little utility that you may want to try on the following site that can turn a .bin file into an ISO file, if you prefer to work with them.

About 4 paragraphs down, under TIP. Its called BIN2ISO. Never tried it, so I can't tell you anything about it.

    thanks to Silverwmoon!
