Nope, according to most magazines and web reviews, F Secure is the #1, with Mc Afee @ 4th and Norton @ 9th.

I also speak out of personal experience. Norton slows down your computer even if you have a powerful PC.
I noticed a slowdown with Norton Antivirus 2005 on my system while others don't slow it down that much.

It's not only the processing, but also the hard disk activity it causes. My advice would be this: There are tons of antivirus software out there that are better than Norton.

Norton and Symantec should BOTH be avoided LIKE THE PLAGUE, I wish I'd seen this thread earlier, I LOATHE norton and people wont believe that it sucks because so many ppl use it! Norton is only used by so many because big companies use norton... and the fallacy behind that is that big companies LIKE TO SAVE MONEY AND NORTON IS CHEAP! (Both in the $$ sense and in what it does).

Most PC magazines are sponsered by companies like McAfee and Norton. I use Avast! it is free and it works better than Norton. I had Norton for a while, then I heard about Avast! so I uninstalled it and scanned with Avast! found over 250 viruses and trojans laying dormant in my PC being ignored by Norton. Nortos is a rip.
