SOLVE THE IMPOSSIBLE
Well its not really the impossible, but I did try using Spybot and Giant AntiSpyware and had no luck.
Whats my problem?
take a look at the link, the two circled things. I got a search bar at the bottom of my screen which I am not able to uninstall and I have items in my favourites which I cannot delete.
Anybody here know how to solve this problem?
Use your registry editor to remove the keys related to the toolbar and the links.
Toolbars are usually found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Internet Explorer\Explorer Bars\
Of course, it might be an ActiveX contol and there are hundreds of these, and locating the bad one is hard.
Try to look for "evil" registry entries at the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ folder and its subfolders and delete them.
Oh, and try to see if there are any weird startup items by either using regedit or msconfig
Also, the toolbar is a .dll file usually located in your Program Files folder or in the %systemroot%\system32\ folder
Find the one that causes the toolbar to appear and delete it if you can.
To avoid getting toolbars or any kind of spyware/adware, use Spybot Search and Destroy and enable the Teatimer. It's a little component of Spybot that monitors changes made to your registry and ask you whether to allow this change. Using this little program, I can install ad-supported versions of softwares/emoticons and still not getting any kind of toolbars or shit like that.
But post your log before attempting anything. By the looks of it, that unsexy man above me can help you if I'm not around. Which is actually a pretty likely event.
This might be a little extreme.
Go into your task manager and see if you have any processes you don't recognize and do a google search on it to see if it could be a culprit.
If possible post a screen shot of it.
to get to Task Manager hit CTRL+SHIFT+ESC --> click on processes tab.
In addition to Jyuudaime's advice.. be sure to update the reference files for Spybot or whatever program your using to check your computer.
P.S. use FireFox :D :D
There's nothing more extreme than disabling the cryptographic services to modify your core dll and exe files and deleting registry keys.
so thats my hijackthis log file and I took a screenshot of my task manager, I went into my registry editor but I'm not able to recognize "evil" from "good", it looks all the same to me -_-
damn I wish I knew more about this stuff, any further help is appreciated.
If it's only a toolbar, don't expect to see any processes.
I was thinking it was an external application where the process would show up. Anyway you can take the picture down now...
not sure what that log is about but just skimming through it i can say that "Zango.exe" is not good.

well I found something interesting, the toolbar and those annoying, undeletable links in my favourites do have a process running. its the one which is circled and highlighted, weird how IE and the toolbar are both IEXPLORE.EXE. The part that annoys me is that, when I end the process, the toolbar dissappears and the links in my favourites go away, BUT the process comes back and the links in the favourites comeback but the toolbar doesn't.
So I'm wondering, is there a way to fix this? The toolbar and links have their own process running, so there must be a way to get rid of this.
The toolbar is actually PART of IEXPLORE.EXE as a .DLL file.
