    Default task manager is broken.

you know when you press "ctl, alt, delete" you get the task manager? and it usually has all those tabs on the top such as application, processes, performance, network, users.

well, mine got screwed up somehow. I'm not exactly sure what I did to my task manager. [perhaps i deleted something in the processes that i wasn't supposed to since i was trying to get rid of all my spyware applications...) All my task manager shows are my processes. the tabs for the applications, performances, network, and users all disappeard. was wondering if there's a way to fix it?

    Cool!

Officially the most screwed up thing I have heard all day! Congratulations!

Ok. Have you reset yet? That should fix it. When in doubt in Windows, reset.... several times.
Does pressing CTRL+TAB cycle through them still?

Only solution I have (other than reseting the machine) is to doubble click the grey are at the top and they sould come back. Double click all over the place where tabs should be, and just to the right of them too. Double click the window name bar at the top too if that doesn't work.

    See if those solutions work.

    EDIT

This isn't what happened, is it?

I didn't know you could even do that (don't see why you would want to), so don't beat yourself up. Glad your good now.

On another note, if you head over to www.sysinternals.com you can get a program called Process Explorer for free. Much better at killing programs than Task Manager, and you get to see a bit more information (like which program started what process). Just watch what you press delete on... :P
