Default Cannot detect DVD burned on Vista

I recently burned some files on a DVD-R using a computer running on windows vista and when I tried to open it from an XP computer it detected the DVD as a Blank DVD. When I tried to open it again on a vista computer, It was okay. The DVD could be detected and opened...no problems at all. Can someone help me figure out how to get it to open on my XP computer. Is there a software I need to do this? Thanks alot!!

Please go to(on your XP computer):

My Computer-->Right Click on your CDRom Drive-->Properties-->Hardware
Under the heading "DVD\CDrom Drive," read us the model number of your CD rom drive.

    Alternately:
    Start-->Control Panel--> Switch to Classic View--> System-->Hardware-->Device Manager--> DVD\CD rom Drives->Read us the model number

    Alternately:
In the Desktop, right click on My Computer--->Properties-->Hardware--->Device Manager--->yada yada

    Alternately:
Double Click on My Computer--->View System Information-->Hardware-->yada yada yada

    Alternately:
Turn your computer off, unplug it.-->Open side of case--> unscrew CD-Rom drive, move it forward enough so that you can read and write down the model number--> Screw back in-->Replace side if case-->Plug in-->turn on-->Tell us the model number

Basically, just tell us the model number, any of those will work, and I likely missed a few other ways to check.

Then we can tell you if that Drive can even read DVD's, and where to get the latest driver, which will likely fix the problem.

Version 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 3.423464375435432675634732165... I fucked with that god damn format for a week and decided it should die... for this exact reason. There never seems to be any guarantee that the disk will ever work again, and on top of that, files just kinda tend to disappear.

Sorry, I really have nothing to add, but those three little letters spark an anger from deep in my soul.

And yeah... chances are there is some software you need... InCD, SONIC DLA, etc.

Remember to always close or finalize *-R's.

Actually the disk is fine. It plays on any computer running on Vista but not Windows XP. Weird. Anyhow, my DVD/CD ROM drive is a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD R2512. Thanks!

Hai guys. How about we spread the luv.

I gives Samurai Pizza Cats as peace offering.

    The Pizza Cats are Samurai,
    and I'd like to note:
their antics take your breath away
    like furrballs in your throat
We kittens are a special breed
    we never call retreat.
Whenever Big Cheese knocks us down
    we land upon our feet.
So hail to thee, oh Pizza Cats.
    Please ring your little bell.
Although you may be pen and ink
    we know you'll fight like...
    Pizza Cats!
