Safe motherboard temperatures
Can anyone tell me what the threshold is for safe motherboard temperatures?
Since Jakko's comments in the case picture thread I've checked my temperatures again (I don't normally leave the temperature monitor running as I don't overclock and never had any need to once I determined my temperatures were well within the safe range). Normally my temps would be fine but it's the peak of the summer heat right now and while my CPU temp is still fine at 39C idle my mobo temp is higher than I expected. According to Asus PC Probe II my motherboard is idling right on the temperature threshold of 45C.
Since safe temperatures can change slightly depending on the hardware the temperature thresholds in Asus PC Probe II are adjustable. My motherboard is an Asus P5K-Deluxe. Does anyone know what a safe range would be for that particular motherboard? Jyuu, I know you're using the same one, so your input would be appreciated.
If you can't give me that, just a general safe range for most motherboards would be good. I've searched on Google but found a lot of people who either completely ignore the motherboard temperatures or have very conflicting views on what is considered a safe temperature. I can't get a clear answer.
