    Wink Software & Hardware problems

My sisters laptop keep displaying a msg about a virus call killVBS.vbs could not be found everytime she starts her laptop. A forum tells me 2 use Drwebcureit & Hijack this to fix the problem. Should i do it or just send it 2 the computer store to fix since its got warranty?

In my hardware question, i thinking about sending my old CPU's 2 the recycling center. Is there anything i should do before sending them?

    Thanks!

I really hope they charge you for that.
Software is usually not covered. Getting a virus is just a sign of retardation and that's usually not tolerated and hence not covered.

I've worked in a computer store for two years. I am an elitist jerk. Bite me.

I would tell you to just back up whatever files your sister needs to keep then format the hard drive. Its much easier then trying to hunt down and destroy a virus that has probably already done permanent damage. Also, after formatting and reinstalling windows, make sure you take more precautions against viruses like better antivirus software. Also find out what in the world your sister did to get a virus in the first place.

^ she didn't need to do hazardous things to get a virus, as a computer with windows and without a good enough firewall or antivirus will be infected by some virus in less than 15 minutes on average.

I don't have any firewall/av software installed and I only do monthly scans from a bootcd that contains the anti-malware software and I have ZERO viruses.

4 years without any anti-malware protection and still going on strong.

the golden rule for everyone that doesn't want a virus is: "no porno websites"

I have had my computer for over 2 years now and I can say I have had 5 viruses, all of which came from porno websites. I have had to format my hard drive 3 times because of worms and bots. if you don't want viruses don't download porno.

Lies, I visit porno websites, and never got a virus, no anti-virus, or spyware/popup blocker (other then firefox or opera offers me)
