Well I'm glad my problem is comic relief for you. At least one of us is happy right now.

    LOL Jyuu!
But there is something you can do.

    Lemme get this straight first.
You have 4 hard disks? C,F,H,I?

All of them are FAT32? or just that "My Book (F" where you have the files?

UNfortunately only sane thing to do is convert it to ntfs.

If you really really need a fat32, you could repartition the HD, into two and have a ntfs and a fat32. (But I don't see the point unless you running some sort of *nix on the same machine, and need to see that partition.

Now, to convert that partition to NTFS:

START > RUN > Type: "CMD" (ENTER)

    On the prompt:

    Type: VOL F: (ENTER)
Take note of the Name and serial number.

    Now type: CONVERT F: /FS:NTFS
Its going to ask that name for confirmation. Then its going to ask for some questions answer Y everytime, let the thing run, its going to take a while because of the size.

After it finishes, and the program return to XP, the HD will work for some time 2-3min, leave it be, its tidying it up.

After it, no more file size problems.

    Maybe he's dual-booting with Windows 98.

Thanks Irecinius but I think ill just take my hdd to my cousins house and extract it there.

And no Jyuu. I am not dual booting W98. As you've probably already figured out my pc is about six or seven years old.

You won't be able to copy it back.

    You need a new comp....

I replace mine every 4 years and give the old 1 to disadvantaged families who have less then myself.

But I dont know anything about FAT 32 either. How do you check windows XP to see if u are still using it or not.

Since Jyuu likes to be vague so he can make more fun of people when they still don't understand, I'll clear this up for you.

The problem isn't with WinRAR, and it isn't that you don't have enough space. HDDs have different methods of storing files. The two methods available to you as a Windows XP user are:

    - FAT32 (old file system format which was used in the Windows 95/98 days)
    - NTFS (new file system format which is used to overcome the limitations of FAT32)

One of the limitations of the FAT32 file system is that it doesn't allow for a single file to be larger than 4GB, that's why you're having this problem. Even if you extracted it on your friend's computer, you wouldn't be able to copy it back to your own computer since you are still using FAT32 and the file is over 4GB.

Follow the instructions that were posted by a couple of other users to change the file system to NTFS and this problem (as well as numerous others that you might not even notice) will be gone.

    Jyuu's enjoying this XD

Umm... Yeah, I guess the only way now would be to convert the volume to NTFS. I'd suggest running chkdsk on each volume first though..
