    Default Video Converter

I just got a Zune, anyone know any good free video conversion software... most of the stuff at Download.com is just shareware.

    One.
    I'm sorry.

    Two.
I think someone might have asked this before... and I think Jyuu might have said (don't quote me on this) to use Windows Movie Maker.

Assuming Movie Maker can handle the format... if not... well, I don't trust the 'automatic' converters. They never work quite right for me. Best, in my mind, to do it all by hand. So that pretty much means you need MKVtoolnix, VirtualDubMod, and maybe some OGG tools. So yeah... extract it, convert the audio, convert the video, pack it all back up.

Also, you need encoders. I'm not sure what you got, but K-Lite comes with a bunch of encoders as well as the decoders. Not sure about CCCP.

Seriously, just cruse around videohelp.com for a while.

I'm assuming that since the Zune is a Microsoft product that it uses Microsoft's proprietary WMV format. If that's the case, Windows Movie Maker probably is the quickest and easiest way to convert your videos. It comes installed with any copy of Windows XP, just look in your start menu's base folder and the shortcut will be there.

Use pspvideo9. I know its a conversion for the psp and the dimensions will be a bit off but, it will convert it to mp4 format so the zune can take it. Or you can use AVI format.

Windows Movie Maker keeps crashing on me, and I don't think I'm saavy enough to manually encode my videos piece by piece.... =(

Hoo-boy. Well see what it looks like (small screen after all, probably won't matter). Want to do as few re-encodes as possible, but if it works, hey...
