Default Barcelona ends up being half-assed, eh?

But apparently that's about to change in Q4 with the higher clocked chips.

But in Q4, we're getting even higher clocked 45nm Intel chips and a few weeks after that, Nehalem's hitting our systems.

GG AMD, you failed at "getting into" my system.

Only few reviews I read stated that AMD *might* have pulled a power advantage out there ass (watts used kind of power) for general use, but I've yet to see a true calculations/watt test. Ars is pretty adamant that it might only really have the fpu advantage in a 4 socket server.

Only real plus I've seen is they aren't badly priced.

So a big maybe to businesses picking this up, but not many home computers in any sense. That's too bad. Unless there's a decent review up that claims otherwise (hate reading these day 2 reviews), Intel continues to dictate AMDs prices.

No. The power consumption advantage is nullified because for the same amount of time the AMD system take to do a job, the Intel ones take less time therefore using an overall less amount of energy.

Even with independently clocking cores (those did make it into final production, right?)?

Wow, it's bad when they have to bank on ATI. XD

lol. Well correct me then man. XD

The ATI thing was more of a joke (although... not much of a reason I see to go with AMD).

In anycase, I believe I read that AMD's new chips are supposed to clock different in each core (via throttling or whatever you want to call it from the powernow tech), something I don't believe the Xeons do. I don't think I've read of a Xeon being able to do that, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Also I wasn't disputing your claim on power... was more of a 'holy shit, really?' remark (trying to cox you into throwing me a review that isn't pre-release, 2-day, 'well we think we got it...' most-likely-crap). Shit, I know you read 10 of these things for the 1 I manage to find. Throw your favorite our way, eh? :P
