    Default Burning DVDs for TV?

Is there a way I can take some of my WMVs and AVIs and such and burn them to DVD so I can watch them on my TV?

Also winavi, I believe nero as well. If your dvd player supports xidvd(orhowever its spelled) you can do that as well. There are free apps around you just have google.

^ depend on your DVD player

It would be for best compatibility, to convert them to MPGE2 Video and AC3 Audio..

This is the base method I use:
    AVI to DVD guide

But in the end I had to do some tweaking because I'm enconding Anime
so if you want to encode MOVIES, thats the perfect guide
if you want to encode ANIMES/Cartoons, you need to tweak some settings.
(I will post later what you need to change)

look up avi2dvd, or Gui for DVDauthor (or DVDauthorGUI is the other one that does basically the same thing).

FAVC is also worth looking up (actually, I'd probably recommend that one).

    This is for AVI, btw...

As for me -- DVDLab (+ some format converting soft) is the tool.
Beware -- DVD authoring is quite addictive).

avi2dvd has worked well for me in the past.

I just got my 500GB HDD Media Player in the mail this morning though, and I can't wait to get home from work so I can test it out. If you don't mind forking out the cash for one (it cost me Australian $300), it's probably the simplest and most convenient way to watch your movie rips on a TV.

I'll post again after testing it with some details on video compatibility and quality of the player, if anyone's interested in getting one.
