    Default Final Fantasy 7 problem

Okay i just got the game but it gives me a problem.
The configuration said everything passes except one and thats 8-bit paletted textures.
and when i try to go into the game, it gives me an error and shuts it off.
How can i fix this problem?

    OS - Windows XP
    Video Card- ATI RADEON 9600
Driver Version - don't know how to find that out.
DirectX Build. DirectX 9.1, i think.

    Last ditch effort.

These posts are old as hell, so give the TNT patch a try with the newest drivers... otherwise your stuck going back in driver version... I hope.

I notice they keep saying D3D in these posts... can you run OpenGL instead (or is it D3D or Software... the evilness).

We could, but then we'll just have a new thread start up. You underestimate the power and persistence of stupid people, good sir.

i think selecting software instead of hardware somewhere in the config menu might fix that i remeber getting a similar problem when i played ff7 a while back.
