Default I think my ipods $^#$

i Just updated Itunes, and was going to put in some music when the ipod check or something popped up and closed itunes, and disconnected my ipod from the computer. I took a look at my pod, and all i could see was the apple logo refreshing and unrefreshing. I tried the toggle hold + menu and select. Nothing
I tried to restore the pod, but nothing as well, mainly because the ipod does show on the computer.

(heres a vid link or it.)

I've been thinking of letting it just dry out, but I know the battery life is still ong and is going to take a while.
    Can anyone help?

    Let battery drain.

That's the only thing you can do.

    Edit:
Listen to the hard drive and report on the sounds it makes.

Could be a dying hard drive as well.
You won't know that until it's completely discharged.

Hopefully you iPod is working again, but if not, did you try resetting it? (Holding the down center button and up button at the same time). I always forget to do this when mine freezes in the middle of playback.
