    Default Can't see file names.

I don't know if I accidentally hit some unknown hot key, but in My Images when using thumbnail or slideshow view I can see the thumbnails but there is not name below them. All the subfolders work fine and the only other folder I've seen that is doing this is the garbage bin.
I'm using Windows XP Home SP2 with all updates minus IE7 and WMP11, I assume my comp specs aren't needed.

i don't have windows but arn't there a display option which can let you use text+icons instead of icon only ?
Or else you could remove the Thumbs.db file in this folder to reinit its options (i think)

anyway, could you post your image with the 2 dwarves playing basket ?

Short version is select list view, then hold down shift while selecting thumbnail view.

Weird though, I didn't know about this one. Kinda cool.

Thats only for browser icons, not image thumbnails, unless you meant details, but thats something else.

There wasn't one (I would try deleting it if there was), just a desktop.ini (which I deleted).

Microsoft has an amazing amount of hidden options only accessible (normally) by changing an obscure registry entry. Even after XP being out all these years we still don't know what half of them really do.

Indeed. Some of them I think are shit they wrote but couldn't get working right. I have Move To and Copy To enabled in the context menu via a registry hack. It works well enough, but causes problems if I don't do things just so...

Found something interesting under TweakUI tips:
Hold down the shift key when switching to thumbnail view to hide the file names. Do it again to bring them back.
Lol, they should make these kind of things easier to do, not some obscure thing. And they have to hide it under TweakUI. Tips.
