Default Damn good audio editting for Linux?

Ok, I'm looking for a Linux-compatible program to do some schtuff. Most important bit I want is for it to be able to remove vocals from songs, as well as some extra sound effects/etc. Audacity is ok, but looking for something with far more features. I've seen Ardour, but I can't seem to solve all the idiot/random dependencies.

    Any suggestions?

(Using the Feisty Faun release of Ubuntu. GNOME desktop environment.)

Uhh... they have Ubuntu compiles of it. You have to enable the extra repositories. I read one site that said for Dapper, it's in the universe repo... so they probably have one for Fawn. Just have to find it. XD

So yeah, just use the package management software.
