Default Any way to burn data discs with intact creation dates?

    Hello~

I've always used Nero for creating data discs, never had a problem, one small gripe I do have is that Nero changes the creation dates of the files. Although there is an option to manually change the creation dates, this is for the entire volume, not for individual files.

I was wondering if there is a way to burn data with the original "Creation" date stamps the same as the files on the HDD? You can do this by using Packet Writing software, but from what I gather, packet writing is a bad idea for archival purposes.

I realise this is trivial at best, but I wanted to see if any of you has an answer...

    uhh... da hell?

Are you using Nero Burning ROM or Nero Express? Burning ROM has it right in plain site and set by default to preserve file dates. It's under the Dates tab when you make a new complilation of some kind. :S

Nero Burning ROM, version 6.6.0.16 to be exact.

That option only preserves the "Modified" dates. It doesn't preserve the "Creation" dates, or does a new version fix this? If it does, please tell me which.

Then why don't you just type in the creation date as part of the title of the disk? Simple solution.

uhh... if your sure it doesn't work, guess not then. I haven't checked. You might want to try the newest version of ImageBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) as it can create ISO images from compilations from the hard drive now, and I hear this is a possible solution to dates problem. After that, you just use Imgburn to write the image to a disk.

Besides... ImgBurn is the best windows burning engine available right now as far as accuracy in burning. And it's free ^^

Ah, screw it, it's not that important anyway.

I guess I was just bored with all the time I have...

Will try ImageBurn though, sounds good ^_^
