Default Jyuu, vol, help with geting a new videocard!

    ASUS Geforce 7600GS 512mt PCI-E SILENT 160
    ASUS Geforce 7600GS 256mt PCI-E SILENT 139
    Club3D Radeon x800 GTO 256MB PCI-Express 140
    MSI Geforce 7600GT 256MB PCI-E SILENT 210
    PNY Geforce 7600GS 256MB PCI-E 140
    Sapphire Radeon X1600XT 256MB PCI-Express 151
    Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO 256MB PCI-E Ultimate 198
    ASUS Geforce 7600GT 256MB PCI-E SILENT 188
    Club3D Geforce 7600GT 512MB PCI-Express 196

Now, I am thinking of geting either of the two lowest, currently I am using radeon 9600 (yeah, I got it working again, not sure for how long tho).

Oh yeah, this list is just from the local store, the closest to 200 euros (left out the cheapest and expensive ones).

What should I get? or you got some other recomendations?

Uhh, you listed PCI-Express video cards. If you are replacing that 9600, you're gonna need an AGP one.
    Get a 256MB card.
    Anyhow.

PCI-Express: 7600GT, but see if you can push it to an X1950PRO
    AGP: 7600GS

The X1600XT is only as good as a 6600GT
The X800 only has shader model 2.0 and you'd be left out for the newer games that require you to have shader model 3.0.

Oh well, I guess i'll look for that 7600GS.

of course it matters as you won't be able to put a PCI-E video card on a motherboard that supports AGP
but if your gf 5200 was an AGP one, you might consider changing your motherboard along with your video card for PCI-E

about the prices, the MSI Geforce 7600GT 256MB PCI-E is at 150€ (more or less, but that's still 25% of reduction compared with your local store...)

You don't what you are talking about, do you?

As I always say, this is the tech section where inaccuracy leads to bad things. If you don't know the subject at 250%, please don't post. Your help is appreciated but don't give out bullshit, okay?

Two 6600GT in SLI requires an SLI board.
The two video cards cost $180.

    A single 7600GT costs $150.
Comparing two 6600GT and a single 7600GT, the latter is way faster than the SLI setup:

Add to that the fact that the 6600GT is a loud card (two of them are even louder, duh), draw way more power than the single 7600GT and also that SLI is slower in several games.

I'm sorry for using this thread to asking for my problem. But it seem appropriate rather than make a new one i guess.
I was confused between Geforce 6200 and Radeon 9550. Which one fares better, i mean will 9550 with 128MB wins over 6200 with 128MB just like FX5200 loss to Radeon 8500? thanks for answering

Uhh... from what little I remember and a quick review that I looked at (from a shit source, so meh), I think that when you have those two as a choice... I think the 9600 (9550... w/e) is the better choice.

However, if your looking at the Gforce 6200, I think for something like 10~15 bucks more you should be able to get a 6600 that will win over them both.

I think those are relativly old cards now, so wait for Jyuu's input. He keeps up with this a hell of a lot better than me. He'll probably have a better suggestion. Might help to leave him a price range too.
    Vol~

    thanks to Silverwmoon!

    Thanks, Volvogga
But Geforce 6600 on the AGP port is the LE edition. I have bad experience with FX5700 LE.

But maybe even 6600 LE is still much better that 6200 ? I mean does 6600 LE possess a fatal flaw compared to the 6600 or 6200?

I'm sorry i can't give the specific input for price range.
