I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,

Try that... personaly, I put 11 on there for streaming and security reasons. I don't use WMP for anything, so I just slapped it on, and after about 15 trys, I finnaly got it to install. I think there is a major update or some shit comming up, but I don't know for sure. I agree though, tried it and it's a piece of shit.
My suggestion... find a new player. Find something good for video, and something for audio. The one's that just do one thing and do it well are the best. I like MPCfor video, but others like VCL or BSPlayer (see CN's list of players and codecs). For audio I use VUplayer, but it's not good if you load up your entire 50 gig library at a time. For that people like Foobar, Winamp, or even iTunes. I'm sorry, but at this point WMP is just struggling to keep up.
IMO, the greatest audio player of all time is XMMS. It's simple, easy, and does what it's supposed to. Granted it's not a libray program, but if you can structure your music on your hard drive efficently, it doesn't really matter. If they ever make a windows port of this bad boy, I will cream myself.
I've yet to try XMMS2, but if it's half as good as XMMS and does the library right, I'm sure it will be godly.
