Default Is it my burner or the Easy Cd creator

    Hello,

I installed a NEC 3550A DVD Burner to replace an old CD burner, I am using Easy CD Creator 5, The burner burns CDs perfectly, but today I tried to save data onto a Blank DVD-r for the first time, but when I pressed Record I got this message "No supported DVD Recorder were detected on your system" I don't know much about computers but it seems to me that the problem is Easy Cd creator 5, (it being to old to be 100% compatible with the burner) since I can burn onto CDs just fine, thanks for the help.

I use Windows 98 (don't know if that helps you diagnose the problem)

That sounds like software or operating system.

    Try this out...

    http://www.cdburnerxp.se/
It's free, so you'll know if it's the software at no charge to you... if it's the software, than you can stick to that program, or go buy something new and up to date.

It's also possible that your burner requires Win98 SE (second editition). I'm getting conflicting information on this. It isn't too likely, but you may want to double check the box.

Could also be 98's craptaculat aspi layer... but we'll worry about that another time (I don't want to look for it now), should new software not solve your problem.
    Vol~

    thanks to Silverwmoon!

I have Windows 98 SE, but it might be as you said, either the burning software or Windows 98. I will try the program you gave me the link to, thank you very much for the help.

Finally got around to trying CDBurnerxp, and it worked great, had no problems at all, so the problem was my Easy Cd creator 5,thank you so much for recommending this program.
