    Unhappy Can someone help me T_T

    Okay, this is just weird, I dont even know what happened. One day, when my cusin was here, he was mostly on MySpace, only for a week. A day later after he left, this program ran everytime my laptop went idle, then I get back on it. (oh wow my english)
    Let me refraise that. Whenever I dont use my laptop for a while, then I get back on, a program called notifier.exe pops up and a HUGE flash window pops up and what makes matters worse, the pop up is FLASH!!! MY LAPTOP CANT HANDLE FLASH!!! The thing is, it isnt really a pop-up, meaning its not a window, its a self-installed notifier program and I cant uninstall it. Its from www.popcorn.net its all "Your trial has ended, but if you go to the website, which I wouldn't suggest doing, its nothing there, but the name Popcorn.net. Its so irritating >_<!!!
    Can anyone help me with this problem?
    I will take a picture of it later, Im too laptop active to go idle for 20 minutes then come back...

    If not, go to Start, Run, and type MSCONFIG. Go to the startup programs and see if you can find that fucker... remove it from starting and you should be good.

    Be careful in MSCONFIG though... could really fuck something up.

    I have a pic of it happening too lol, I also had the task manager up as well. Its of course "notifier.exe"

    I hate spyware/malware, they are such a pain to get rid off. I always protect myself with the likes of scanning with Spybot Search & Destroy and Lavasoft Ad-ware, plus have SpywareBlaster and Spywareguard running in the background. This stops at least 80% of spyware in my opinion.

    But anyhow, I did a little google and found this site http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff195983.htm .... see if this helps if the other sites don't help you.

    being careful about who you trust and scanning it for virus problems (at the least) before you ever open the file is a big help. The really big sites, and the reeeeeaaaally small ones (like someone's directory server) are usually trust worthy. It's the medium sites and the file sharing mega programs you have to worry about (some of the stuff on gnutilla and kazza networks for example). If your looking for a program, given the choice, always go with the one that says it's either GNU/Open Source or 100% Adware/Spyware/Virus free on the website. Oh... and do read the EULA before installing programs. They usually say if there is something malicious in there, allowing you to abort the install.

    Question WIN 98 PROBLEM - STACK error?

    i have problem too

    plz dont surprised I using both XP and 98 (I should use linux consider this problem??)
    After I startup my comp and choose my dearest 98 (then wait a moment). Suddenly my screen say this:
    WHILE INITIALING DEVICE NDIS
    WINDOWS PROTECTION ERROR. YOU NEED TO RESTART YOUR KOMP.

    AN INTERNAL STACK OVERFLOW HAS CAUSED THIS SESION TO BE HALTED. CHANGE THE STACK SEETING ON YOUR CONFIG.SYS AND THEN TRY AGAIN.

    What I take from above is.. While initialing your device.. Windows wont open. You need use XP!! lol

    this my config.sys

    device=c:\windows\himem.sys
    [COMMON]
    files=10
    buffers=10
    dos=high,umb
    stacks=1024
    lastdrive=z

    I use step by step but it always show... same

    but above config return a warning:
    Your stack are incorect... using default value for stack (fyi this line is near than what the warning says)
    Until now.. I using safe mode (that's must change).
    the reason I using WIN98 is because.. I using WIN98 to play oldsih game and my delphi laguages is error on XP but not in 98 (VB problem is include the same)
