Jyuu & vol, how to back up SATA HD with N.ghost 2003?
Well this is my first bad experience with norton ghost,
My work place decided to get new computers, so we upgraded from dimension 8200 (IDE HD) to the new Dell optiplex GX620 (with all the good stuff, 4GB ram, pentium D, SATA drive)
So I decided to use norton ghost 2003 on these machines to lessen my work if the staffs got problem later on, and so I make 2 partitions and installed Ghost 2003 into of one the staff machine. I was really confident and didn't create any back up disk or whatever the software recommend, because I never had a prob before and while I was in the process of creating image file...the whole thing frozed! I restarted, the N.ghost menu appear but the machine wouldn't boot to windows!
so I slaved the HD with another computer and saw a new partition created by ghost, and c: drive changed to I: drive, I googleed on how to by pass this, but none worked.
I almost gave up and planned to reformat the computer, which is going to waste my time, but then, after so many trials and errors I found the solution,
it is partition magic 8. I deleted the extra partition and set active drive to the supossed to be c: drive and it worked, it automatically change the drive to c: when I boot it up.
but still the question remains, how do I back up SATA drive with ghost 2003?
I wonder if Jyuu & Volvogga have an answer to this?
