I Hope this is the right forum for this.
I've recently discovered that when I open up Bitcomet & leave it running, it causes my computer to slow down (particularly the internet) but when I close it my computer goes back to acting normal, because of this I've been comtemplating trying another client like Azureus but I wanted to see if I could get some help with this problem before I did.
P.S. - I not quite familiar with the meaning of certain terms(words) and what not associated with Bitcomet so please make it a bit simple for me.
Umm... I'm going to recomend you go to the library and get some books on... networking, but the internet itself in particular. You need to learn the basics, my friend. It's not nearly as scary as it all looks once you get into it. ^^
What you are experienceing is perfectly normal. Your internet connection allows you to transfer so much data at a time. Think of it as a pipe...
When nothing is running, you got all the pipe to work with. But, when you run a bittorrent program, it downloads and uploads data. It's a sharing program, which makes your computer both a server, sending out data, and a client, recieving data. Because of this data transfer, you pipe does this:
You loose space for data to 'flow' within your pipe. So your interent slows down? Good. Means Bitcomit is working... at least somewhat. There is a lot to those programs and how they work.
thanks to Silverwmoon!
I actually tried learning about Bittorrent off Wikipedia but that didn't work out so well.
