Thread: Who else thinks here that Yasunobu Hattori was the cause of Yamato's problems?

When you look at it, Yasu was always prodding Yamato in the wrong direction where it comes to relationships, seeing that he was a womanizer while Yamato wasnt. He even gave Yamato a condom at 1 point causing endless trouble with Yuka & Megumi when they found it in the trash bin.

Worst of all, he told Yamato that people tend to do premartial sex(and even flashed a magazine article regarding that exactly) causing Yamato to make out with Suzuka and make her pregnant(he did throw the condom away). So yeah, IMO Yasunobu was the cause of quite a bit of problems in the series.

What say you all?

I agree with what you said for the most part, but you are overlooking Yamato and Suzuka's part in this. You can't put the blame on Yasunobu Hattori because he didn't sleep with Suzuka, he only propose it to Yamato. He just once again gave stupid advice to a person with bad judgement who happens to be Yamato.

It's Yamato's own fault to follow his "friend's" advice in the first place, I mean... why did he ask a womanizer for advice on relationships, this just shows that Yamato has bad judgment. But in the end, it all comes down on both Yamato and Susuka's decision to have sex without protection. Yasunobu Hattori didn't force Yamato and Suzuka to have sex, he only propose it to Yamato who in turn decided on his own to sleep with Suzuka who later agreed to it. To sum it all, Yasunobu Hattori had a small but important role in all of this.

I don't think so. I agree that Yasunobu has had a generally poor influence on Yamato because he himself isn't a very nice or helpful guy and gives advice that he would follow rather than something that would help others. But, Yasunobu's influence has been on Yamato throughout the story, and we've seen Yamato ignore Yasunobu's "advice" many times. If Yamato was truly always listening to Yasunobu, he would have quit the track team early on.

I agree that Yasu exacerbated the sexual tension between Suzuka and Yamato, but he wasn't the cause of their choices. Also, even if Yamato decided to have sex on Yasunobu's prompting, it would still be his and Suzuka's fault for actually doing the nasty.

Hmmmmm, both of you are right. Still, you can say that Yasunobu was the proverbial 'seed-planter'. Ever since he introduced the concept of making-out to Yamato all Yama thought of was about doing it with Suzuka. Then again, he might have started thinking of it (provided that Yasu did not tell him all about making out) the moment Suzuka watched that dirty-ish video with him.

Then again, there IS that moment where he tried to make out with Honoka on his own judgement, and only succeeding in freaking her out.

Wtf are you guys talking about !? it's all Yagami Light's fault! He should've written Suzuka's name in his death note to push story into the right dirrection!

Im simply curious as to whether you think making out is the same thing as sex. (though granted it will often lead to it). Iono maybe its cultural difference in places we live =/.


Anyway, You cant blame it on Hattori, if hes so weak willed to follow everything he says, then its his own fault for being so weak willed. And besides, Its their own fault for not using protection. And I highly doubt it was Hattori who inspired Yamato to think about sex, after all he is a guy. He did put pressure on him and rushed him, but again, its his own fault for being caring what others think and being an overall dumbass. The only thing Id really blame Hattori on is the whole thing with Yui at karaoke.
