great now there are two of us thinking on similar lines on this subject.

see there is that eternal optimisim believing what people are saying, when most people will never be able to be honest with others let alone them selves in hard situations. so this is propalby the writer showing us how it is hard to do what you believe in and sometimes even harder for us to understand what to do ourselves. or maybe I am thinking to hard again that happens from time to time, I look for a deeper meaning that is not there.

Yes, i agree that most of the people are dishonost with eachother which makes them very sad sometimes... Even in my life, when i am listening to other's jokes or just some stories i don't have any intrest in them and jokes do not feel funny for me, but i have to pretend that i am intrested and put on a fake smile not to sadden my friends or just the people i am talking with... Same in here where Suzuka doesn't want this child, she wants to continue with track and field, but she is considering Yamato's feelings too much, so she cannot disagree with him

[QUOTE= I guess that is undoubtful since she went to a track n'field in america for a year. Which she wouldn't have done if Yamato was her high priority. [/QUOTE]

try recalling that suzuka really pursued to study in america and improve her high jump because of yamato's praise to her that she really looks cool while doing high jump (recall that even yui said that there is a deeper reason for suzuka wanting to pursue track in US but suzuka doesn't want to tell it - she knows yamato will tell her that she need not trouble herself for it but she still insisted to go maybe because it's killing two birds with one stone (following through yamato's praise and improving her high jump for herself)).

if you reread and analyze suzuka's actions, she is deeply infatuated with yamato although she bottles it up as she doesn't want to experience the pain of losing her loved one again (like kazuki). that's why she is like an ice queen in the early to middle chapters of the manga. but this started to gradually change when she started to go out with yamato and accept his feelings for her. then after going to US and the break up and getting back with yamato and all, she became more honest and straightforward with her feelings than before.

well what i say is, after they became a couple again, we can take what suzuka and yamato are telling each other (with their feelings and all) at face-value.

isn't what happened for the better and after that they became more honest with each other.

on your point that she dumped him before going to america, have you read ichigo 100%? think about the situation of nishino and manaka before going to high school when manaka got dumped by her. i think it's just like that situation between them.

try rereading the arc when yamato started to work in amami cafe (yui's) up to the point when yamato went to the airport to ask for forgiveness to suzuka for being such an ignorant fool and to make her not leave the country. i saw that it was the really the best thing for them to break up at that moment and be away with each other and grow as a better person. surely the arc when yamato headed their high school track team as the captain was made into a time skip but i think he really did a great job and he started to pursue track and field for his own good and work hard for it, not solely because suzuka was in there. i say yamato became a good captain because his teammates were grateful to him as well and now, he's more of like a "big brother" to all of them (which the other characters showed - tsuyoshi, miho, kobayakawa, miki, etc).

are you telling me that even with the fact that he should have won and not come in third that he realitly found track to be that imortant to him. there is no way he did what he did because he love track he did it to be a good captin that is all. he only stayed in track with the hope that some day he could show suzuka how much he has grown as a person. i mean that he did this to show her that he can follow through and become a better peerson for her.

still not buying that suzuka loves yamato as much as she loves track. I know that I could not work that hard just to give up on my dream like she did. She is lying to herself or hiding something from yamato.

Default let's just see it in the last three chapters.

of course it's a very hard decision to give up track and field but the way things are going (as what the manga shows and not my opinion or speculated feeling), suzuka values yamato and their love for each other more.

with three more chapters to go, i think the track and field arc is just plain secondary in this manga and suzuka and yamato's love is the top priority or... let's just see what happens in the last three chapters. and hope that major loose ends will be tied together

maybe there'll be a continuation after the three chapters to show the fulfillment of track arc - three more chapters i think will not do to finish the track arc so i guess it's more on how suzuka and yamato will live their lives as a family - if ever suzuka gives a safe delivery (she or the baby dying situation is not yet out of chance).
