Hmmm.... I'm gonna go for a random shot in the dark to guess what happened to Yui:
Basically, in sometime during the timeskip, her father died, and she blames herself for it. She becomes a less naieve, but also becomes a quiet person, and practically forgets about Yamato. And she's gonna end up being at the college that Yamato goes to, and approach him quietly to say hello, and try to build up a light friendship with him. And then she'll be like, "Ack! I still like Yamato-kun!" and then start crying because she realizes that he and Suzuka are going out again, but she won't try to end it, and will somehow disappear out of the manga again like Honoka.

As for yui, im guessing that the manga developers tried to mix things up or shes a test character as to see what would happen if the readers of manga want another love triangle or something, thus not using miki for the role and not blemishing her image

this is a good thread because it's about Yui my favorite character in the series!!!

Yui was the only one who went that far maybe it was her last resort and Miki can't like or if she did like him, won't confess to him because it's the hidden rule between friends that you can't steal your friend's man....

^Its really sad that all these girls who really liked/loved Yamato were turned down. Both Yui and Honoka had pretty strong feelings for him, but meeting Suzuka 1st made her his priority.

I disagree, you only say that because your head is full of Yamato and Suzuka's relation prosperity...
If you had put yourself in her place, you would have realised how she feels...

She was just dumped by her boyfriend... She is feeling very down ( just like Yamato had felt when Suzuka dumped him for the first time) but for Yui, there are no "Yuka" to console him by telling own story. So while she is in her pitiful undead stage, lying on the bad face upon pillow, her friend or, maybe, even Hatori, invites her to a group date, telling that there are a lot of fish in the ocean and she will be able to meet some nice guy... So she gets a hold of herself and goes to that group date, hoping to chit-chat some and get rid of loneliness... when she arrives she meets her partner and does nothing except for what she should do on a group date... Soon she realises that Yamato is very simillar to herself, and slowly falls in love with him, but she also realises that he has a girlfriend... She asks him to go out with her once more. (Probably because her condition was still very bad, so she couldn't remain all alone, well that is the only place where you can call her selfish). And after that day in amusement park she parts ways with Yamato. It was useless after all.
Then, after some time, i am not sure how long has it been month, two, half a year, year... She meets Yamato again. Coincidently, he comes to her restarant for a job interview. So he begins to work with her... Time passess, she finds more and more things about Yamato. Starting to admire him more, and her old feeling come back, she feels love towards him once again... That feeling grows stronger, untill one day, Yui recieves a message that Yamato broke up with Suzuka, and she went away for whole year... So she comes over to Yamato's and finds him half dead...
Next move is quiet logical. From her point of view: Yamato has broken up with Suzuka, things won't be getting any better since Suzuka is gone to study aboard, Yamato is in dispair, she loves him very much. And so she realises that this is the moment of truth... If he won't accept her feelings now, he never will. So she strikes. Maybe her way of doing it is "a little" rushy, but thats her personality... And there is nothing selfish about it either. What do you think should she have done after hearing that Yamato broke up with Suzuka? Watching him suffer from outside? Consoling him by telling that "Suzuka is gone for just a year, you can wait for her returnal, and then everything might go on fine with"?

Yui never had a boyfriend, she was rejected by the guy she liked because he was already going out with someone. At least I think that's how it happened.

I don't really have a problem with her attack after Suzuka took off, I have a problem, hence calling her a bitch, with how she tried to break them up.

^I don't know if I actually feel any animosity towards her. I mean, she just saw Yamato so broken up after Suzuka left and she thought that might make him happy. Its just another one of those sad unrequited loves for her. Same thing happened with Honoka.

She just has a blant persinality, she is not keeping anything to herself, if she wants to tell or do something she does it... Even Honoka wanted Suzuka and Yamato split up, but she didn't spill it. When they finally split up Yui said she was a little happy about it, but i am sure any other girl who likes Yamato would be happy about it (well except for Miki, i think she is happy just by seeing Yamato happy, which makes her the most noble and attractive character of the manga), others would simply hide it... IN FACT, Yui blamed herself for being so blunt, each time she said something, she was regretting about it. Also, don't you think that it's partially Yamato's fault? He is being to kind to other girls, and is giving them unnecessary expectations.

In addition its because she saw Yamato sad after being dumped by Suzuka she did this, it was a way of trying to console him, if he accepted her feelings, he wouldn't have to suffer for Suzuka any longer, but he's love is just too deep thats why i like him.
