Yamato asks why since she said she doesn't hate him. She goes on that the reason is because it'll end up the same way. They'll fight over something stupid and she might end up hating him or something. So in order to avoid that she rather be friends. Yamato continues to ask her for a better reason because he can't accept that. She tells him to go back since she doesn't want to start fighting over this. He refuses to leave and continues to ask her, until his stomach starts to growl. He tells her they'll talk after dinner after he calms down.
After dinner, she goes that it'll be the same so there's no use talking about it. Yamato goes on that this time it'll be different and he's confident of that. She goes on about it ending up the same way and he persists. She then says "Please understand, let's be friends", Yamato starts to think to himself it's useless and it's probably better to be friends, and chapter ends with him hugging her from behind.
