yeah what d.A. said, even though u make a good point ghost, the fact is that the manga is still called SUZUKA, what would u want them to do? have her stay over there and change the manga name to Yamato? besides, we still don't know everything that happened in America, assuming going to say more about it, maybe she really did come back for yamato, which seems to me the more likely case. so that would just mean that she left her track star oppurtunity in America i guess. so all im really saying is that its still kinda too soon, unless they are just going to end the series soon.
crap, my computer didnt show my comment the first time, sorry for double posting =/.
maybe she came back because she's not an American citizen, and preferred not finishing her athletic career in jail

Then stop reading manga :P. (stupid answer usualy used in naruto and usualy by fanboys)
Anyway as i read on other forum and after a little thinking its quite possible that yamato will fail exams.
Especialy we can get it from the question at the end of the chapter where author ask if yamato doesnt need to learn.
Also its quite internesting wonder if in next chapter we get more info or just some filler.
Quite the opposite for me really. As soon as I read about him taking the Toutodai exams, I thought it was obvious that Yamato would fail as soon as he takes it. Looking at the bigger picture however, all the outcomes from that scenario don’t necessarily lead to Suzuka and Yamato any closer. Yamato’s character doesn’t have many big deficiencies so I can understand him actually getting into the school. The main reason I see him failing the exam is that he’s failed everything else in the past. So going by that, Yamato will most likely suffer some setback only to be accepted late or in the long run – but if he gets in on the first try then it is just a large step toward the eventual ending. I'd say whichever gets Yamato more motivated in track is what will happen.
The inclusion of filler chapters will tell a lot about the ending. The more the fillers: the more then ending is near.
As i read its like this
toudai= 100% chance to get in but he cant take exam or try to go to soudai
soudai= he must take some exams to be taken, at the same time he cant chose toudai as anotherchoice
So if he will choose soudai then he wont get into toudai and its same if he chose toudai but he need to pass test to get into soudai.
(soudai or whatever it was)
Yes that’s the gist of it. But what I’m saying is that because this is Yamato we are talking about, at first I first thought it was obvious that he would fail if he were to choose Soutodai over Toutodai. But again looking at his character, the only thing that I could come up with as justification for him failing is that he failed at everything else – that’s not enough to say that he will obviously fail it which opens up the chances of him passing it.
The reasons why Yamato passes or fails the Soutodai test if he chooses to take it in simple terms:
Failing: Yamato failed everything beforehand; nothing is stopping him from failing the test.
Passing: It’s a matter of looking at his character literally. Yamato isn’t brain dead academically, nor does the story say anything about him being completely inept at anything academic. You have to remember that the story even depicts playboy Yasunobu as a straight “A” student. Other than him failing at everything in the past, there isn’t any reason why he shouldn’t pass.
Seo might make Yamato FAIL the Toutodai exams, in order to present an acceptable reason for him to end-up in Soudai. Yamato already promised Saki that he would go with her to Soudai(but is having second thoughts because of Asahina going to Toutodai). So it could be an escape hole for Yamato in order for him to go to Soudai(so that Yamato would look less of a jerk by seemingly not breaking his promise with Saki).
Another is, if Arima is indeed going to Toutodai, Yamato being on the same team as Arima presents less complications than if he is on the track team of Soudai. These could all end-up in a face-off between Arima and Yamato, on and off the track field.
