Kouji Seo has shown has dislike to was draw the action sport scene So
perhaps to save his precious time for other projects he can do 3 chapters and then jump to graduation 3 more chapters and jump to college. Each chapter
could be recaps of all the sports scenes we didn't see as well as releationship
development. 3 more chapter and graduation form college. End of manga
    (This was sarcasm)
As to Akitsuki the best that can happen is for him to stay at arms length from
Suzuka. After wrecking his chances for the interhigh races when she
emotionally destroyed him before leving to america(another race we didn't
see) We saw the physical result of what happened. After becoming captain
hecomes in 3rd in the interhigh (didn't see either). If he stays away perhaps
Suzuka will get the message she screwed up bigtime She became bigshot in
America but it did nothing for the prestige of the school she was attending
before leaving. The old track team have moved on and should treat her
accordingly. It was refreshing to see that the younger members of the
track team liked Akitsuki as manager perhaps because of his honesty and his
learned humbleness. Kouji Seo use of more nudity now shows his running out of ideas. Wrap it up please!

Everyone became better off with Suzuka's absense, that much is obvious. Her return only foretells the incoming storm, so to speak. I also hope that Yamato doesn't get within arms reach (actually make that a 10 meter pole) of Suzuka unless he wishes to be heavily scrutinized once again under her 'little-miss-perfect-pleasing-everyone' standards. It drove him to depression once before which he picked himself up from over the year but now....well, the reunion is almost inevitable. Pray that Yamato will show some resilience to her accursed charms this time.

Well, Akitsuki is now the captain of the Athletics Club and with a little help/inspiration from Honoka and his donation for something good to happen at the shrine, he might actually put effort back into running and finall, even tho it might be another 20 or so chapters away if we are lucky, HE MIGHT BEAT ARIMA. If not, erm... he will hook up with more chics, refuse them, jump off a barge, eat some ice cream, sleep... so on...blah this has turned into rambling...

    BEAT ARIMA YOU SLOW TWIT!!!

Also Miki > Honoka > Suzuka

    Listen to the noise

I agree with most of what Firebrand is saying despite it taking me three attempts to understand his/her post...still don't get the attempt at sarcasm however.

I'll build my comments on Weimario's post.

Rather than being almost inevitable...The story cannot move on without Yamato and Suzuka meeting; it's inevitable, plain and simple. The title is still Suzuka. Even if Suzuka is not to be paired with Yamato in the ending, she will play a big role in actual decision. They would need to meet for that to happen.

...Although I still don't see a way for Seo to have Yamato end up with any other female without disrupting the story as a whole for reasons stated in older posts.

We already saw in this chapter than Yamato is just as lazy and irresponsible as before. Almost not showing up to your retirement speech? Come on now. It's clear foreshadowing that Suzuka and not Yamato is the one that underwent a drastic personality change.

Ya, no need to quote the rest here. My key word is 'reunion'. While I might not have elaborated I intended to mean by that phrase more than just their first meeting for the first time in a year. Think of a minor ceremony, the minute silence staring at one another, the embarassed greeting and maybe the sudden desire to get back together. Not 5 seconds of Yamato saying: "hey, haven't seen you in a year, how have you been? Oh I am in a hurry but I'll see you around perhaps and catch up on old times." Now THIS is just plain simple meeting while reunion can imply so much more.

Well depending on Seo's fancy we might get this indifferent Yamato reaction which can prompt Suzuka to question whether her leaving him was at fault for such an indifferent response and may drive the rest of the manga (that Suzuka is the one that hasn't abandoned her feelings despite abandoning him while Yamato has really moved on). This slight chance of scenario is why I don't bank all hope on just plain "inevitable" reunion since it implies continuation of their rocky relationship and Yamato falling back into that dangerous cycle of self worth degradation under her scrutiny.

On this point of 'indifferent Yamato' scenario, it may be the best thing yet since he is avoids making the bigest mistake in his life a second time: hooking up with Suzuka. BUT since Seo has shown to take the 'safe' plot path in preference, odds clearly favour the 'rekindled relationship' scenario.

That aside, while Yamato has not really changed his personality, neither has Suzuka shown any apparent changes (what kind of changes can you tell from one panel of art? Or is chap 123 out already?). However the way others react to his personality has changed favourably. There are people that actually support him and rebukes towards his attitude draws him into line rather than beat him into the ground like Suzuka's did. Let's hope that however their meeting plays out (reunion or otherwhise) the next time Suzuka lashes out at his unchanged personality Yamato will cooly respond "...and what makes you think your opinion matters to me?" You show her Yamato....

I understood what you implied, however a "reunion" or whatnot is still inevitable.

In my post I alluded to Suzuka having to play a big role in Yamato's final decision, thatís not something you can do in the 5 seconds you degrade my meaning of "meeting" to. So just for you I will rephrase my statement since it seems implying something isn't enough nowadays.

Call it an extended meeting, call it a reunion - but the fact is that it is inevitable.

Not a big deal really, just me saying that "almost" should be left off your argument.

How so? The supporting characters that made significant appearances before the time jump were already acting favorably toward Yamato. The ones that didn't: still don't. Kobayashi hated him, and still hates him. The coach disliked him and still dislikes him. Disregarding the entrance of new characters there hasn't been any major changes in how they react to him. The only possible exception is Suzuka, and that has yet to be seen.

For Yamato's and Suzuka's relationship to move forward at least one of them needs to have a drastic change. Yamato's change was minimal; that leaves Suzuka.
