In the end, Suzuka wins because that's the title. Really sad if that happens. And as we know, the rule for shounen-ai is that the more unrealistic coincidences the protagonist encounters, the better the drama will be. So Yamato will be doing something out of the ordinary and then Suzuka shows up out of no where.

That would be pretty dramatic but I prefer Suzuka with Yamato XD.

Why?
-After Asahina left, Yamato resolved to be more decisive (hence more loyalty).
-Honoka hasn't made any serious move on Yamato over the course of a full year.
-Yamato is sort of shocked when his aunt asks him if he has asked Honoka out yet.
-Yamato treats Honoka more like a friend than a lover or a person he obsesses over (he doesn't think of inviting Honoka right away to the beach and al his conversations with her revolve around how he is amazed at her modeling career (you wouldn't make such small talk with your girlfriend)).

More likely than not, Yamato will (gently) refuse Honoka with Asahina walking up on his refusal and being surprised at it.
