picky, picky. oh, by the way, its not a good idea to translate the french versions. Why? because you probably lost alot of the original meaning of the sentences, considering that page has been translated twice.

No, it's not bad to translate from the French version. It's bad to blindly trust the French version. About 80% of the lines are "close enough" to the Japanese meaning (even more so on later volumes). You got to use proper judgement when creating scanlations.
At all costs possible, try not to use the French manga as a RAW. Unless there is no other RAWs, don't use the french manga. Use the Japanese or the Chinese. The Chinese manga sometimes doesn't clean up as well, but for some difficult sections to edit (like text overlapping dark images), they sometimes place a big text box for easy editing. But try at all costs to limit taking shortcuts. Also, you didn't clean up the page beside removing the text from the bubbles. Which wasn't too great, since you didn't clean up the raw first.

The only things i can say from a editor's point of view is that you didnt edit out the french and you didnt level it at all. Also, you probably should save it as png from now on because it saves the quality and gives you smaller file sizes

No the CHINESE version is HORRIBLE! Trust me. For example, translations many times change the terms, Osorezan Revoir moreover translated as "Meeting Anna" So I really dont recommend it. The only time it makes sense to translate from the chinese version is really if the translator has read SK and researched on it enough to properly know whats going on. >_>

Sorry I had no time to do the leveling, I will try to translate it as soon as possible, because of several demands by this Forum I wanted to make it quick, and also because of many very difficult assingments given to me by my professors as I am attending an ultra sofisticated, hi tech advanced level curriculum educational establishment in which the students are obliged to forfill vigourously.
As all of you must know time is of the essence and must not be abused by such a simplton as I. |

erm, I meant to say that you could use the Chinese version to be the image RAW (if you can't get the Japanese). Since the Chinese chapters aren't edited very much, and things that are changed make it easier for English scanlators.
Also, I think it's alright to use Chinese manga for Translations. But, some of them are worse than others. I believe there is 3 or 4 groups in China that scanlate Shaman King (I know there was 2 that did Butsu Zone). HKOTC (Hong Kong Official Translated Copy), is the one Windera used. JoJo, is a fan one, which shouldn't be trusted. Comics World does one. There may even be another one, but not sure. So it's all about where you pick your apples. But the rule of don't blindly following something is a good rule of thumb. If it's translating from Chinese, French, Thai, German, Sweedish, Korean, or Spainish! (Yes, off the top of my head that is some of the places which SK has been officially translated to)

Well, the Chinese version isn't the one you should try for first. Use the Japanese version for your image RAW.
http://www.stoptazmo.com/showthread.php?t=5951&page=7 Madi-chan has them uploaded there. I have to use Chinese and French scans for my Butsu Zone scanlations since, I don't want to splice my personal volumes, and those are the only ones I can get too. I don't have alot of skills to edit out the Japanese titles. So I really can't give you any suggestions. But, it's always better to put text off to the side rather than ruin the artwork. You can go to places like http://www.dafont.com/ or other free font websites for your fonts.
