This post is to answer all the REPEATED questions on this forum. Moderator, iff you could please sticky this. These DO CONTAIN SPOILERS. So whatever :P. Its cause most questions asked ARE spoilers!
1a.) How much Shaman King is there?
-- 64 episodes + 4 specials in the anime and + one where they just greet happy new year and it lasts about 16 seconds. 32 volumes of manga (285 chapters), of which the extra ending chapters *Funbari No Uta* are listed in volume 32. There are two main "books", the mankin fanbook and the manjien. The mankin fanbook has Yoh and Hao on it, and features the extra Hao special, Mappa Douji, Relax, and a 10 page Cupid Tamao special. Manjien has some info, and is the one with 5 color pages. Translation of Mappa Douji, the Funbari No uta, Relax, and so forth can be found on messworld.
1b.) What exactly is the Funbari No Uta?
-- The ending 5 chapters of the manga. It's practically the "official end". It tells the story of Hana, a son of Yoh and Anna (disputed to be Hao and Anna as well). Hana goes to collect the warriors for a meeting. To learn more about the Funbari No Uta here is the fanlisting link with raws etc.:
2.) Is Opacho a girl or a boy?
-- A girl
3.) Why are scanslation releases so slow-- I want to read!
-- Stop complaining and do something eelse. Go read summaries, and read translation raws of the later volumes at messworld: http://messworld.suddenlaunch.com. Refer to this post about the slow releases:
4.) Is the manga like the anime?
-- NO! The ending is totally different, and truth be told, the ending of the anime had nothing to with Takei, it was made up by the animators who were in a hurry to end it. The manga goes into much more detail.
5.) Okay, so when does it diverge?
-- the manga and the anime are pretty much similar until they reach around volume 17. Of which Ren dies in the manga and the anime doesnt have that, and from then on they are two different entities.
6.) What is the Osorezan Revoir?
-- Volume 19 and 20 of the manga. It address's Hao's ability and concentrates on Anna and Yoh: how they met etc. Its a whole saga within itself. The Osorezan Revoir is the introduction to the "deep" part of the SK manga. Its the breaking point.
7.) Who is the strongest at the end of the Shaman King Manga (out of the five warriors)?
-- Chocolove. The strongest in the whole series is of course Hao :1.25 million, followed by Jeanne 500,000 (as far as we know). I figure Sati's would be pretty high as well...
8.) Who is the Shaman King?
-- In the anime Yoh becomes it after doing a sort of sailor moon gig, by "borrowing everyone's furyoku" to beat the "evil" Hao. In the manga, Hao is the shaman king. The warriors all forfeit their claim to fight him and decide they will go after him after he goes into a pseudo-sleep in the ceremony.
9.) How does the manga end? What's with "Princess Hao" bit?
-- Refer to post above. The manga ends in a hang, while the warriors are heading off to fight Hao, and going through the plant fights with the Patch. Princess Hao refers to the dream that Manta has at the end of ch 284. He dreams Hao is a princess. My thought on this is that Hao is a "damsel in distress" and his dream fortold the warriors saving Hao. Not defeating him, but saving him. What from? probably from himself.
10.) Why did the manga end?
-- The ratings dropped and hence Takei wrapped up whatever he could at the end.
11.) What is Reishi?
-- Hao's ability to read people's thoughts. Thoughts rush at him whether he wants to or not. However, he prefers people talking since the thoughts are organized that way. Anna had this ability too, but "lost" it. To what extent, I don't know. She constantly says she knows things because "the spirits told her" (pfft)
12.) Why are you doing this?
-- So you won't ask stupid questions.
If you guys can think of any other POPULAR questions tell me and I'll edit this post and put it up there.
