Thread: Big fat problems

Ive just got up to volume 7 of SK and Ive seen a few big fat inconsistensies that were like a slap in the face. Can anyone explain these?

1.) Volume 7, Horohoro says Ren has 1 win and no loses and the fight with Yoh is his last. He has to go 2 for while everyone else gets 2 for 3?

2.) Volume 6, Ren gets out of the shower, butt-naked and starts yelling for his SISTER to bring him a towel? YUCK!

3.) Volume 5, Yoh changes clothes between frames in the battle with Faust. Magic?

1.) It's stupid. Poor Ren. No explanation. The writer just didn't want Ren to have been beaten before his fight with Yoh.
2.) Ren is always naked. Mostly in the later volumes. Nudity doesn't seem so... inappropriate in Japan.
3.) That's just a mistake.

1. No, Ren did 3 battles along with everybody else (except maybe Hao). His record is either 2 ways (depending on what sources you check):
1 win - 1 win - 1 tie
1 win - 1 tie - 1 tie

The first one is more reasonable, since Ren doesn't want to lose, and such. He wasn't fighting for the Shaman Fight, he was fighting to kill Yoh. The 2nd pick (with 2 ties) I believe is what happened in the manga (while the other is anime). Yeah, he had a win, and he had a match against Yoh, but Horohoro doesn't express anything about Ren's tie (maybe it was against Hao? One could only guess). In this light, Ren was fighting to stay in the Shaman Fight.

2. That's just Ren for you. He's got the whole guys are cool thing going for him and such. Plus he drinks milk, so....

3. Yes, it's magic. In volume 8, Yoh shoots fire out of his nose. Magic I say, Magic.

Ok, not really Takei might have made a last minute change or something. He was still bummed out about Butsu Zone.

That doesn't make sense. Faust didn't have to battle anyone else after he won 2 matches. And they said that the battle between Ren and Yoh would decide who would move on. If Ren had already won two, Ren would have already qualified.

1) He was the very last person in the match line up, everybody else had either won 2 or lost 2 except for Yoh, so there was no room for him to fight a third person, so the whole concept was really unfair for him, cuz he had to get 2 wins out of 2 matches while everyone else 2 wins out of 3 matches.

yep ren only fight 2 times in the qualifications....well maybe coz what he did to his judge....heheehe^^

Yes. That would serve him right! I still love him though.
