Thread: How this thing could end

Well, since it's getting rapped up in about a year, I figured we could share our ideas on the ending.

Well, what I see occuring is that they get to the final chamber where Hao is, but Yoh tries to talk Hao out of his wish. Hao says something along the lines of "I'll be taking back what belongs to me" and consumes Yoh's soul like in the anime. Then, after recieveing all Yoh's thoughts and memories of his fun times with humans, Hao has an internal dilemma. Yoh's memories show Hao that his hatred of humans was not because they polluted the world, but because of their rejection of him. Hao also realizes that the fact that he is haunted by people's thoughts is because of his own faults as a human. In the final seconds he changes his wish to ask that all humans may see spirits and the horrible effect they have had on the world.

Since we know that the person seen in Funbari no Uta is a merging of Hao and Yoh, it makes sense that Hao would consume Yoh's soul once again.

They get to the final chamber where they try to convince Hao to stop his wish of removing all humans from the Earth and let them world be as it is. Hao defeats the five warriors and Ryu, but doesn't kill them. He goes for the finishing blow, but Sati and her group return from Hell, bringing the five elemental spirits to the five warriors. They create a new armor O.S. which allows them to last a little longer against Hao. Yoh tries to convince him otherwise, but Hao takes Yoh's soul, completing his own soul and merging with the King of Spirits. Hao gains the memories of Yoh and his experiences with his friends and family, which eventually leaves him without makingany changes to the world whatsoever.

That's a good possibility, not a fact. We don't really know who was the man at the end of FnU.

^ Actually, it was revealed a year ago by Takei that said that it was a fusion of the two.

Really? Can you link me to an interview, or a thread about this? People speculated that much ever since that chapter was released.

Might have been during Japan Expo in France. I don't remember the exact questions from the interview. And, oh yeah, that fact that Takei never said that FnU falls in the SK timeline/universe. So, it still doesn't hold water either way.

And more importantly...
All these theories are great and all, but, you know, they are a bit too Yoh/Hao centered. Takei's finishing off the series, not just that Yoh/Hao bit. He has already stated that there will be a Horohoro-centered chapter in the ending. Which he gets about 10 chapters. So, one of those chapters is already covered. The question then really becomes, what happens in the other 9 (and how Horohoro fits in)?

Logical, character-based chapters are:
1. Horohoro
2. Ren
3. Lyserg
4. Chocolove
5. Sati (with Elemental Spirits) (and Ryu)
6. Redseb/Seryam/Faust (all those dead people)
7. Anna/Manta (and people on the beach)
8. Silva (and rest of Patch)
9. Yoh
10. Hao

So yes, the Yoh/Hao plot is important. But when developing theories, remember the cast. Any theory basically needs to start the Yoh/Hao thing, then work in chapters that support a conclusion with all the characters listed. Since Horohoro is confirmed, clearly these others will get their time to shine as well.

Oh. It's not like the other characters aren't important, but we have to face it that the plot has always been around Yoh/Hao. People are just giving endings based on what they already know.

Oh, and there are also many foretelling details in SK that account for the idea that Yoh will teach Hao something, like the fact that the names for Yoh's and Hao's armor oversouls seem to play into the story of the Ugly Duckling: Kurobina meaning "Black Chick", who is rejected and mistreated, and Yoh's "White Swan", the more mature end result.

Hmm... I wouldn't really like an end in which Yoh and HAO end up as one. Even if they were originally part of the same entity, I see them as different people.
