Actually, Madi-chan has translated Mappa-Douji, which is basically a story of Hao's childhood. You can ask her for it.![]()
Yup! You can ask me for it!Hao has a sad childhood...
By Hao, I assume you mean the current Hao, and not the original one, based on your "bring himself up" comment. He was brought up by the Spirit of Fire, which cared for him when he was completely helpless, but he always had the mind of his original self.Originally Posted by zeusosphere
Ren we know about. The details surrounding his early life are hinted at during his (second) fight with Yoh, and the rest we can guess at on our own. Obviously, it wasn't really a happy childhood, his dad being an oversoul not mattering nearly as much as his dad being an asshole. Ren knew bloodshed and slaughter from an early age, and that shaped him to who he is today.
so why not share our guesses here? it'll be interesting to see how everyone thinks~~~~
if there isn't any concrete information about his past, let's start with Horohoro. like, how was his relationship with his sister to warrant her dragging him around giving him 'training from hell' and he just submits to it meekly even though he's the older one?
Um, you do know that Hao spent the first shaman and the first half of the second shaman fight WITHOUT SoF? It would be somewhat sad/hilarious if Hao was once an emo kid that cried in the corner.
Oh, and according to the manga Hao was raised by another man, not SoF while as a baby. This man turns up later in the Shaman Fight, NOT as a buddy of Haos.
That's an interesting note, never knew that about Hao. I was, of course, referring to his current incarnation when I mentioned the SoF; I'm well aware that he obtained it in his second "life".
HoroHoro's past is woefully unattended to, which is strange; most other main characters have at least some information revealed about them, which makes me wonder why Horo-kun is so neglected by Takei. One can assume, though, that HoroHoro had a difficult--but probably not altogether horrible--early life, living as an Ainu in Hokkaido (probably the wilder regions of the island, judging by what he's said about himself). He was probably taught how to interact properly with the natural surroundings of his homeland from an early age, due to the animalistic beliefs of his people, which in turn shaped his personality and moralities.
One can imagine that, as a Shaman, he was put through many tests to strengthen his abilities, from survival training to communication with the spirits around him. His submission to his sister's training probably has more to do with her dominating presence (not physically, but Pirika seems to share Anna's skill of intimidation through aura alone), and not with any single incident that happened in his past.
Would that be Blocken? And I read somewhere that we can attributes Hao's lego-like shoes from him, Hao using it to serve as a sort of "remembrance." I believe I got that from the messworld.com site.Originally Posted by Skrymir
I think HAO was brought up by that Bloken Maiya(or something like that) who lived in Hiroshima. You know, the other small companions of HAO (beside Opacho). When he was stil a newborn, SoF bring HAO to Bloken and Bloken raise him. Don't ask how he raised HAO, though. Cause it's only one of my speculation (after I read RELAX).
don't people find such a kid creepy? I mean, he speaks into your minds, is totally in control, and plus he talks to ghosts too. wonder if he even said any baby words - I mean, like, was he self-controlled enough to avoid giving into his physical inabilities?
and back to Horohoro - most older brothers would find it pathetic to be ruled over by their younger sisters, right? maybe Pirika was a bit of a tyrant to her poor older bro - in fact, isn't she still?
and Horohoro seems rather a mischevious sort (doesn't he? at the very least, he's cheerful and funloving~). who knows what tricks he pulled, once~?
