Thread: Shaman King 242-243 discussion

242 & 243 are out now and it seems the whole world will soon know of the shaman fight.

YEAH! Looking cool, but you know what....

I hate reading 1 chapter at a time, so I'll go like 9 months without reading SK. Then I'll come back and read like 50 chapters in one go... and then I'm back to reading 1 chapter at a time.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It's such torture. >_<

But anyway, The latest is looking really cool. I like the direction it's headed in. Hao, Yoh, and the other 4 warriors, are all really good characters.
I still can't bring myself to like Chocolove much though. Lyserg is okay but Chocolove... just no.... I can't understand why he's become such an important character. I mean I liked Faust more than him! arg...

Well, Mankin-Trad is having weekly Shaman king chapters every weekend, so it's a very steady pace for releases, and it's not too bad. It's better to readly it weekly, since that's how it's designed to be be read.

Chocolove is important since he's the balance of power. Yoh, right now in the manga, was the only person not getting stronger (Faust will be getting stronger very soon, Ryu stays about the same). He just didn't have the will power to increase his strength. Sati was only able to put Yoh in a place where he could become stronger. Chocolove on the other hand, he wants to be stronger and does so under ths guidance of Avaf. So he's not the most likeable character, but he's not without purpose.

Now Hao starts to show his true face... He have specific sense of humour This fit to his character: alienated, trying to show himself as a weird, but intriguing person.

Well i like to put chocolove and lyserg in the same boat. They both want to get stronger but they have a "burden" if you will that they have to let go of. It's pretty cool to see them grow as shamans and have their journeys and battles answer the questions their hearts ask them. But i could understand if
green-eyes chan doesnt see this aspect because you really cant fully understand a manga like shaman king by "speed reading". Reading 50 chapters isl literally like reading 1000 pages in one night. If you read 1000 page book you wouldnt have detailed knowledge of it the next day.
