Yeah, it's as ShinigamiX said. The popularity of the manga was diminishing, and he had to cut it short. The creator actually wanted to continue for another couple of volumes, actually. But that was how it was. On the item in Yoh's hand, is a message that indicates that it is not a complete story. Did you guys see it?

aaa....it's not as if you could actually ask him ...like you know: "hey mr takei could you puetty puizz tell us the ending?" *big sparkling eyes*...but it's just like everyone else has already said...he didn't end it just like that because he wanted to..i'm sure that one day he will be able to continue it one way or another!
<<Volume 32 ends with Yoh going to sleep to prepare for the final battle with Hao; the final page can be viewed as his dream, which features Hao as a princess with Yoh and his friends on their way to rescue "her". The page contains the words "Owari" ("The End") and next to that, in front of Horohoro's sword, is a mandarin orange, also called "mikan" which is the Japanese word for "incomplete".>>(for those who are 2 lazy to click that link) yuh, guess Starslasher's right hurray everybody)

but will it be possible for takei to continue his work after such a long time? (because now he's already busy with other things) i mean how will the public react? cuz they stopped producing the manga because it wasn't profitable enough and that won't change in an year or two. so when the manga will be continued takei ill have less supporters than now because ppl will lose interest in it PLUS the old story won't be published anymore( and come on no one will read the story if they don'y know who the characters are and everything)..

I don't really care ... I just wish there had been more talk of Ryu's past. >> When I think of Ryu's past, this is what I see.

Ryu's mom: Come back soon with the milk!
Ten year old Ryu: -goes to get the milk-

    -7 years later-
Ryu's father: ...Did Ryu ever come back with that milk?

If I understand rightly, Ryu have brother- hairdresser.
I think that SK popularity is in progress... Kids are watching anime, later looking for more on Internet, and when they find manga, they become maniacs... And last chapters have no many translations, so if new version will be made, there would be no problem for publishing it instead of old? I don't interest in marketing, so probably I'm not right. I know, that when I bought via Internet (no SK manga in my country ) I've read: sixth edition, 11.2006. If they print new editions, someone must buy it, no?

All of this depends on whether or not the popularity goes up. And people get enough fans into this and show that there are those who want this last chapter/volume that completes this series. I mean look at family guy, it got out of obscurity and is now a steady block on both Cartoon Network and Fox's LOL sunday.

The ending isn't great, and it's not a real ending. But then again, Takei hasn't ever had an ending that's on his own terms.

So, it's not great, but the timing is well done. Sure, there is alot not explained, but it doesn't leave you at a cliffhangeer or anything!
You forgot to mention the Mexican version... We already finished that manga too ^_^

Well, there are a lot of mangas that ended in JUMP and that now are being serialized in JUMP or in other manga magazines, Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa and Kinnikuman are some examples of this... Altough the 3 series did FINISH (Except for Saint Seiya wich DID FINISH but finish abruptly, not as abruptly as in Shaman King...
To put an example, Saint Seiya Manga was finished in the Hades Saga but his creator wanted to make another saga, but JUMP didnt allow it, so Saint Seiya finished with Hades Saga) so I think Takei could very well continue his manga in some years... If the public asks for it...
